Audubon is hosting two events on Saturday bringing visitors closer with frogs.
The first is a “Croaks and Cider Morning Frog Walk” at Audubon’s Caratunk Wildlife Refuge in Seekonk. It takes place from 9 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
With the arrival of spring, frogs and toads are becoming more active in their preferred habitats. Spend the morning with an Audubon naturalist and discover which frogs are active during the morning and learn how to identify their calls. This program includes an easy one-mile hike to vernal pool sites.
Fee: $12 member adult/ $6 member child; $14/non-member adult, $7/non-member child. Ages: 6 and up. Register online through the events calendar at asri.org/calendar.
The second is “Froggy Night,” taking place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. that same day at the Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium in Bristol. Bring the whole crew to discover the fascinating world of frogs. Enjoy interactive activities as they explore how these incredible amphibians live, breathe, and croak. From tadpoles to full-grown frogs, they will dive into their life cycle and habitats. After the fun indoors, head outside to listen for frog calls and search for these slippery creatures in their natural environment.
Fee: $10/member adult, $5/member child; $14/non-member adult, $7/non-member child. Ages: 6 and up. Register online through the events calendar at asri.org/calendar.
