An historic home on Tyler Point in Barrington sold recently for $1.95 million.

The home, built by Sea Captain Jesse Davis in 1850, sits on more than two acres of property on Tyler Point. According to the “Historic and Architectural Resources of Barrington,” the home is good example of Italianate villa, with cross-plan massing, bracketed cornice, and cross-gable roof topped with an octagonal cupola.

The sale included 270 feet of water frontage. The house features four bedrooms, 3.1 baths, and more than 4,300 square-feet of living space.

Compass’s Lisa Schryver of Barrington’s Kirk/Schryver Team represented the seller and Kira Greene of Compass Providence represented the buyer in this transaction.

"We were honored to be selected to assist the sellers in the sale of this remarkable home, cherished by their family for over half a century” Schryver said. “This property holds countless memories, and we were thrilled to help find its next stewards who are eager to make it their family home for many years to come.”

According to a press release from Compass, the agency has, year-to-date, achieved more than $1 billion in closed real estate transactions, surpassing any other brokerage across the state.
