Warren Police received an inordinately high number of complaints regarding public urination between March 20-27, 2023.

Warren PD: Multiple public urination complaints

Monday, March 20
A caller reported that they had been assaulted by a female at 4:31 p.m.

A caller on Baker Street reported a landlord cut off their power at 4:50 p.m. The power was restored shortly after the call.

Tuesday, March 21
A woman turned in firearms ammunition to police headquarters at 11:31 a.m.

A Child Street resident reported seeing someone on their Ring camera stealing items from their porch at 11:41 a.m. A short investigation revealed the person was a worker in the building, and wasn’t stealing anything.

A man turned in an ID card for a police officer that was found outside a Metacom Avenue location at 4:13 p.m.

A caller from Barrington reported at 6:35 p.m. that they had seen something black on a rooftop across the water, which he had never seen before. He was worried it was a cat stuck on the roof. It was simply a new roof vent.

Wednesday, March 22
A motor vehicle accident that occurred near Market Street and Kickemuit Road around 9:57 a.m. resulted in one person being transported to the hospital.

A Cutler Street resident reported at 10:44 a.m. that their identity had been stolen and that they had received a $2,500 fraudulent charge.

A caller on Main Street reported finding three new BB holes in their office windows at 11:09 a.m., though the caller wasn’t sure when the damage occurred.

A caller on Liberty Street reported at 1:40 p.m. that a man wearing a purple button down shirt with dress pants and a black hat “grabbed a large tree limb, headed toward [the] school and urinated on AC system and left.” The report indicated “he has done this multiple times.” Police checked the area but didn’t find anyone matching the description.

A 4-1-1 tip reported at 4:16 p.m. that juveniles had made their way on top of the roof at Pete Sepe Pavilion, but police saw no juveniles in the area when they responded approximately 10 minutes later.

A person was reported as suspicious on Water Street at 6:06 p.m. who was reportedly standing in front of a residence for an extended period of time. Upon calling the reporting party back, police learned the individual appeared to simply be walking his cat.

Thursday, March 23
A caller reported that a man and a woman have continuously been urinating in an alleyway on Main Street. The caller was advised to contact police when seeing this happen. A check of the area yielded nothing, but police said they would monitor the area.

Police assisted an elderly resident of Canario Drive get back into their house at 7:44 p.m. after they were locked out.

Friday, March 24
Police called a rescue to help a man who requested a ride to the hospital for detox treatment at 5:19 a.m.

A caller on Water Street reported at 10:16 a.m. that a man walking a dog urinated in front of her and then continued walking down Water Street. Nobody was found at the scene.

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested on Main Street at 11:45 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

A caller reported a deceased woodchuck near Lincoln and Munro Avenues at 1:07 p.m.

An injured rabbit reported in the yard of a Long Wharf Drive resident at 6:14 p.m. sadly had to be euthanized.

A caller on Metacom Avenue reported at 8:06 p.m. that a “large bird” was “running” around the area and was concerned it would get hit by a car. Police didn’t find the animal.

Saturday, March 25
Warren PD assisted Barrington PD at 5:54 a.m. in looking for an individual who allegedly stole a wallet in that town near the town line. Warren PD were able to locate the person and transported them back into the custody of Barrington officers.

Sunday, March 26
Jason Matheu, 39, of Pawtucket, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop near Metacom and Homestead Avenues at 2:16 a.m. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC .10 to .15, first offense). He was arraigned and released to the custody of a friend.

RIDOT was informed that a green light was not functioning at Metacom Avenue and Laurel Lane at 1:12 p.m.

Police dispersed several people who had set up tents in the area north of the Rhode Island Energy lot on Brown Street at 4:27 p.m.

Monday, March 27
A caller on Arlington Avenue reported at 2:16 a.m. that there were several people walking around his driveway with flash lights but police found nothing in the area.
