Warren PD: Nine arrests made during busy week

Warren police made nine arrests between March 6-13, 2023, including four DUIs and one juvenile arrest.

Warren PD: Nine arrests made during busy week

Monday, March 6

Kathryn Ferrara, 37, of Warren, was arrested following an incident on Market Street at 7:44 a.m. She was charged with two counts of domestic violence (vandalism and disorderly conduct, both first offenses). She was  transported to district court later that morning.

A Fatima Drive resident reported that their dog was attacked by another dog while on a walk around 9:17 a.m.

A tractor trailer truck reportedly hit a building on Main Street and continued down the road without stopping at 12:34 p.m.

A caller on Kinnicutt Avenue reported at 12:45 p.m. that someone “may be stealing his pigeons.”

A man on Vernon Street reported being assaulted by another man at 2:50 p.m.

An employee of a business on Metacom Avenue reported at 5:11 p.m. that they had discovered counterfeit money that had been used some time the prior week.

A person reported at 11:07 p.m. that someone had thrown something at their vehicle while driving down Route 103 in Swansea.

Tuesday, March 7

A Central Street resident reported at 11:05 a.m. that someone was taking pictures of their home. Police searched for the vehicle in question but didn’t find them.

A caller reported a person was stopping vehicles at Main and Seymour Streets at 2:15 p.m. asking for money. They were gone when police arrived.

Wednesday, March 8

A fence was reportedly stolen from a grave site on Vernon Street at 9:20 a.m.

Illegal dumping was reported on Market Street at 10:56 a.m.

A Market Street resident called police at 9:02 p.m. to report that there were several juveniles in their back yard, who then ran to Jamiel’s Park. Police didn’t find them.

Thursday, March 9

A sexual assault was reported on Child Street at 8:54 a.m.

A Campbell Street resident reported at 11:00 a.m. that someone had shot one of his windows with a BB gun, and that one window still had a BB stuck in it.

A possible mulch fire was reported on Metacom Avenue at 12:37 p.m., possibly from a cigarette butt. The fire department watered the area to prevent additional danger.

A Metacom Avenue business owner reported at 4:14 p.m. that an item from their store was stolen, possible a week prior.

A juvenile waiting by the beach on Water Street for a friend was dispersed by police at 10:30 p.m.

Friday, March 10

A caller reported at 8:37 a.m. that there was a man urinating outside the Liberty Street School property, but police didn’t locate the person allegedly involved.

James Marchand, 62, of Warren, was arrested at 2:21 p.m. following an incident reported by a resident on Park Street involving a vehicle striking their home. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. He was arraigned and released later that afternoon.

Police dispersed someone on Main Street at 5:29 p.m. who was allegedly waiting outside their ex’s apartment in a vehicle.

Tracey Lynn Avila, 53, of Warren, was arrested on Metacom Avenue at 10:29 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop. She was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. She was arraigned and released to the custody of a friend early the following morning.

Saturday, March 11

Multiple rescue trucks were called to the scene of an accident at Child Street and Arlington Avenue at 5:35 a.m. Multiple people were sent to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries.

A stolen bicycle was reported on Main Street at 2:48 p.m.

A caller reported that she had been rear-ended by another vehicle at Bridge and Main Streets around 2:53 p.m., and the other driver took off. A BOLO was sent out to find the suspected hit and runner.

Benjamin Nuissl, 22, of Warren, was arrested following an incident on Lyndon Street at 2:58 p.m. He was charged with two counts of domestic violence (vandalism and disorderly conduct, both first offenses). He was arraigned later that evening.

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested on Main Street and charged with simple assault and/or battery, vandalismm, and disorderly conduct.

Courtney Lambert, 29, of Warren, was arrested on a warrant on Broad Street at 5:53 p.m. She was transported into the custody of Pawtucket PD later that evening.

A 3-year-old child was injured following a bite from a canine on Milwaukee Avenue at 7:45 p.m. The dog was taken by animal control and transferred to the custody of the Bristol Animal Shelter the following day.

Kimberly Kempke, 58, of Seekonk, Mass., was arrested following a motor vehicle stop at 7:51 p.m. at Child Street and Kinnicutt Avenue. She was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. She was arraigned and released later that evening.

Mark Tavares, 22, of Bristol, was arrested at 10:27 p.m. at Main and Wheaton Streets following a BOLO from East Providence PD involving an erratic driver. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer.

Nicole Drury, 47, of Riverside, was arrested at 11:13 p.m. at Old Market and Market Streets following a motor vehicle stop. She was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. She was arraigned early the following morning.

Sunday, March 12

Helen Dias, 41, of Warren, was arrested at 6:15 p.m. following an incident on Child Street where a caller reported that a woman “threw a tea pot at his vehicle.” She was charged with two counts of domestic violence (vandalism and disorderly conduct, both first offenses). She was arraigned and transported to the ACI later that evening.
