Warren Police Log: Officers assist Warren Fire Department on a couple calls, make DUI arrests

The following is a synopsis of the Warren Police logs from Monday, March 3, to Sunday, March 9:

Monday, March 3
Warren police arrested a Warwick woman after responding to a domestic call on Main Street at about 2:15 p.m. Police were called to the scene at the request of the property manager, who alleged the person was having a "manic episode." Upon arrival, a 50-year-old female was taken into custody. She was later arraigned on a charge of domestic violence-disorderly conduct-first offense and released.

Tuesday, March 4
Police answered an incoming call of potential fraud at about 6:45 p.m. The caller requesting to speak to officer reporting his mother's phone was hacked, but did not wish to file a report. The person had general questions how to change their password for social media and also reporting no loss of funds, that his mother was made whole by their bank.

Later in the evening, at around 10 p.m., the police joined the Warren Fire Department in responding to an alarm on Child Street. Upon arrival, firefighters were able to knock down a small fire and ventilate the building. The owner of the structure was called and came to the scene. The building was cleared and turned over the owner.

Wednesday, March 5
At approximately 3:15 p.m., a person entered police headquarters to turn in a cellphone they found on Railroad Road. The owner was determined and contacted, later retrieving the phone at about 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 6
At just after midnight, police received a call reporting a branch was in the roadway at Child Street and Barker Avenue. The officer sent to the scene found the branch was removed and placed on the sidewalk.

Later in the day at around 11 a.m., and following a motor vehicle stop police arrested a Fall River man on the charge of Driving With Suspended/Revoked/Cancelled License - 3rd Offense. Alex Raposo, of School Street, was later released.

Friday, March 7
Police received a civil dispute call at almost 9:30 a.m. from a location on Arlington Avenue. The person reported a construction company had left equipment on his property and wanted it removed. The company was contacted and the items were taken away.

Public safety personnel were called to the scene of a potential fire at Seymour Street and Englewood Court at about 3:15 p.m. A telephone was thought to be on fire, but firefighters found after a tree branch fell power wires were arcing. There was slight burning on the pole. R.I. Energy was called and power was out in the area for a time, before firefighters eventually deemed the location clear at about 5:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 9
Following a motor vehicle stop at Railroad Avenue and Child Street at about 2:30 p.m., police arrested a Fall River man on a charge of DUI of liquor - blood alcohol concentration unknown - 1st offense. Carlos Duarte, 58, of Wellington Street, was later arraigned and released.
