The following is a synopsis of Warren Police logs from Monday, Jan. 27-Sunday, Feb. 2:
Monday, Jan. 27
An officer responded to an animal complaint call at about 5:45 p.m. on Franklin Street of four barking canines in the rear yard that canines appeared aggressive and may not be properly contained as they look able to jump the fence as well as concern with amount of dogs owned at one residence and the living conditions. Upon arrival, police made contact with the owner and observed four labradors who were friendly and it did not appear canines would be able to jump over the fence. Information left for the Animal Control Officer incase a follow up was necessary.
Tuesday, Jan. 28
Another call pertaining to dogs, this one on Market Street at about 5 p.m. with a request that officers assist in catching a Dalmatian mix who had jumped over a fence and got loose. The responding officer was able to retrieve the canine.
Wednesday, Jan. 29
Police received multiple calls of a downed wire on Mason Street at around 5:30 p.m. One claimed a roofing company ladder fell and hit the power lines. Upon arrival, the responding officer found no one injured and the lines still connected in part to the pole. Rhode Island Energy was called to oversee the matter further.
Thursday, Jan. 30
Police received a call at about 5:15 p.m. of an open door to the kitchen area of the recreation department building on Water Street. Upon arrival, the responding officer confirmed the situation, noting the door needed to locked from the outside. The recreation department director was advised to handle the matter.
Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 1 and 2
Officers made a pair of Driving Under the Influence arrests late Saturday evening and early Sunday morning. A Swansea man was charged with DUI of liquor - blood alcohol concentration unknown - 1st offense; refusal to submit chemical test after a motor vehicle stop at Serpentine and Schoolhouse Roads February 1 at about 10:15 p.m. On February 2 at about 1:30 a.m., an East Providence man was arrested on charges of DUI of liquor - blood alcohol concentration unknown - 1st offense; refusal to submit chemical test following motor vehicle stop on Market Street. Both men were arraigned and eventually released into the custody of family members.
