The following is a synopsis of the Warren Police Department call logs from Monday, June 9-Sunday, June 15:

Monday, June 9
A 16-year-old juvenile female was arrested on charges of alleged simple assault and/or battery and disorderly conduct after police responded to a disturbance/verbal argument call from a West Street location at about 5:45 p.m. The call came from the teen's sister, who said she had been assaulted.

Wednesday, June 11
A report in the early morning hours, around 1:30 a.m., of a suspicious vehicle driving the streets in the Beechwood Court neighborhood proved to be nothing of note. A caller requested a check of area, after reporting two male parties on foot startled by her sensor spotlight. The men entered a vehicle and drove west. Some 10 minutes later, the responding officer spoke to the operator of the vehicle, who said he dropped off his friend at his home and then returned to his own residence.

Thursday, June 12
A Barrington man was arrested on alleged drunk driving charges following a motor vehicle stop at Main and Crescent Streets around 1:15 p.m. Adrian Voshchullo, 58, of 11 Seven Oaks Drive, was charged with DUI of liquor - blood alcohol concentration unknown - 1st offense and refusal to submit chemical test. He was later arraigned and released.

Friday, June 13
Police were required to take no action after receiving a couple of calls, one coming at about 9:30 a.m. from the Canario Drive area, was of a man potentially breaking a no-contact order issued in support of his wife by entering their home and urinating inside a room.

The seemingly weekly occurrence of a "good samaritan" returning lost property found on the East Bay Bike Path continued when a female party returned a found wallet to police headquarters at about 7:45 p.m. The owner was notified and claimed the item the next day.

Saturday, June 14
WPD sought the assistance of neighboring Bristol officers after a local resident reported being the victim in an alleged hit-and-run accident at Metacom Avenue and Canario Drive at about 11:40 p.m. The departing vehicle headed south after the collision. BPD was called and eventually found the suspect vehicle. A Warren officer later joined them to further investigate the matter.

Sunday, June 15
The helping hand vibe extended to our canine friends, when a dog was found at Water and State Streets around 12:30 p.m. The pooch was swiftly returned to its owner without further police involvement.

Update
An update of an item included in the WPD logs from May 5-May 11, included a response initially as support of a Warren Fire Department run to a Market Street local after receiving a call about a laptop computer "smoking." Upon arrival to the scene, which was later confirmed as being the Highlander Charter School, and further investigation it was revealed the fire was caused by a student following a TikTok social media application trend, which dared youngsters to insert metal objects into the charging ports of computer, causing the batteries to short-circuit and ignite. A WPD detective interviewed a 13-year-old male student, who admitted to damaging the laptop. The juvenile was charged with vandalism and disorderly conduct and referred to Family Court.
