Police responded to a motor vehicle accident just past noon at Water and Miller Streets. The caller reported his vehicle was struck while parked. Unable to make contact with the owner of the second vehicle, a note was left.

Later in the evening, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers answered a suspicious person call from Market Street of female party repeatedly driving by beeping the horn. The complainant said the same reporting female drives by approximately three times per night and yells out the window and requested an added police patrol.

Police were called to the scene of another car vehicle accident involving one vehicle hitting another that was parked at Water and Miller Streets just before 1 p.m. A report was taken and the roadway was back open some 20 minutes later. The theme of the week continued when Portsmouth Police sought assistance with a hit-and-run in their town. WPD visited a Drysdale Street location at around 3:50 p.m. if a car there was involved in the incident. After visiting the the location here, WPD advised their counterparts the driver "may have moved a few weeks ago" and that the vehicle was not at the site.

Thursday, April 10

The WPD's Animal Control unit assisted in retrieving two loose canines after responding to an animal complaint on Union Street at about 9:30 a.m. The dogs were returned to the owner about 15 minutes later, who was also issued a warning to maintain control over the animals. Police responded to another animal complaint of possible abuse of a dog from Main Street at just after 3 p.m. The officer at the scene said the canine was out with its owner and appeared "in good health."

Saturday, April 12

Police were called to the scene of another motor vehicle accident, this one on Metacom Avenue at about 3:05 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer found air bags had deployed and one occupant was in need of transportation to hospital for treatment.

Sunday, April 12

The weekend concluded with police responding to a call of damaged property from a Maple Road residence at shortly after 11 p.m. The victim claimed someone wearing a "light colored hoodie" just slashed the tires on his vehicle.
