Daniel Ryan, 78, of 55 Manning St., was charged with violating a no contact order, after the state Department of Elderly Affairs alerted officers.

A Mason Street woman contacted police with fears that someone was tracking her via her cell phone. Police advised her to contact her cell phone provider.

Tuesday, Jan. 7

A caller reported an erratic driver following behind her, weaving and beeping the horn, on Main Street.

A Main Street resident reported an argument in the apartment building. Police spoke to the tenant; there was no problem, she was just talking loudly on the phone.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

Michael C. Bentley, 36, of Seekonk, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or subsequent offense, after police pulled him over on Market Street at 1:27 a.m.

A driver struck and killed a deer on Metacom Avenue just after 5 a.m.

A Manning Street resident reported the theft of her recycling bin.

An officer spotted a Christmas tree laying on Metacom Avenue.

Thursday, Jan. 9

A caller complained of broken furniture littering the rear of a lot on Main Street. Turns out the business was undergoing remodeling and old furniture had been brought outside.

Police were called after a Metacom Avenue juvenile apparently refused to go to school.

A caller reported being touched inappropriately. Police are investigating.

A Main Street resident reported being threatened by a neighbor. Police said it was a civil matter.

A Barden Lane caller asked that police disperse a woman from the property.

Friday, Jan. 10

A Water Street business owner told police that her clients were being harassed by neighboring tenants over parking.

A car was reported vandalized on Market Street.

A caller reported a possible domestic assault on Martin Street. She said her husband had been assaulted by a neighbor and had a facial injury. The alleged assailant apparently left on foot and was in Barrington; police in that town were notified and looked for him with no results.

Saturday, Jan. 11

A Child Street woman complained that the upstairs neighbors were too loud.

A Sowamsett Avenue resident called police to report finding multiple dead squirrels along the wall at the nearby cemetery.

A caller told police that men wearing construction clothing were going door to door on Harris Avenue. Police tracked them down; they were Jehovah’s Witnesses.

A caller told police that kids might have been fighting on Market Street. Police determined they were just playing around.

A driver struck and killed a deer at Barton Avenue and Touisset Road.

Sunday, Jan. 12

Police looked for but could not locate two suspicious men reported by a resident to be trying to gain access to a home on Metacom Avenue just after 2 a.m.

A fire hydrant was reported stolen on Metacom Avenue.

A Main Street resident reported hearing a fire alarm on Main Street just before 3 p.m.; it turned out to be a cooking mishap.

A caller reported seeing a red pickup driving all over the road and into oncoming traffic on Main Street.
