Blount Boats Inc., which is celebrating its milestone 75th year of operations from its Water Street headquarters, was honored by the Warren Town Council at the body's Tuesday, Nov. 12, meeting.
The council presented a plaque denoting the company's business lineage from 1949-2024 to Marcia Blount, company president, and Luther H. Blount III, project manager engineer with the firm. Another key cog of the business, vice president of Human Resources Julie Blount, was unable to attend the council meeting as she is representing the company at the International WorkBoat Show in New Orleans, La.
Blount was, likewise, was recognized by the Warren General Assembly delegation of Senator Walter Felag Jr. and State Representatives June Speakman and Jason Knight, receiving proclamations from each Smith Hill chamber.
As part of its 75th anniversary year, Blount Boats recently christened its latest line of vessels, the G Class series LOA (length overall) 100-footer. The company has completed two new boats, "Guarder" and "Gripper," which were formally unveiled to the industry during a ceremony on October 30 at the company shipyard.
