Westport broke out for 10 hits as they clobbered South Shore Vo-Tech 10-2 during a home game on Wednesday. The Wildcats also beat the Vikings 5-3 in an away game on Thursday to improve their record to 3-1.
Owen Boudria mashed a run-scoring double and led Westport with a pair of hits and a pair of RBI. Jacob Aurelio, Connor James, Jack Valtron and Bryton Graham each drove in runs for Westport, who scored 6 runs in the second inning and 4 more in the fifth.
That was plenty for senior right-hander Connor James, who struck out 9 and yielded just 2 walks and 2 runs in a complete game victory.
The Wildcats came back from a 1-run deficit in the second game on Thursday. Westport knotted the game 1-1 in the sixth inning and broke out for 4 runs in the seventh to take a 5-1 lead. South Shore scored 2 runs in the bottom of the inning, but Luke Finglas, who pitched the entire game, bared down and recorded the win.
Finglas struck out 6, walked 6 and gave up 3 runs.
Offensively, Max Gallant drove in 3 runs and Kasen Avila drove in 2 runs.
Westport hosts Case on Thursday at 4 p.m. and Nantucket on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
