Westport police charged man with OUI, negligent driving

Monday, May 2

Police checked a D Drive residence after receiving a burglar alarm alert just after 10:30 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a car accident on State Road at 12:29 p.m.

Medical emergency calls drew crews to Lakeside Avenue at 5:36 p.m. and Robert Street at 5:49 p.m.

A resident walked in to the station to report larceny, forgery or fraud.

Tuesday, May 3

Crews responded to Adamsville Road at 1:44 a.m. for a medical emergency.

A brush fire was reported on Drift Road at 3:01 a.m. Police alerted the fire department.

A car accident was reported on State Road at 8:32 a.m.

A caller complained of a suspicious car on John Reed Road at 9:09 a.m.

A caller from Sanford Road called police at 10:40 a.m. to report breaking and entering into a car.

Police assisted a motorist with car trouble at Route 99 and Drift Road at 2:13 p.m.

A caller from Masson Street  reported larceny, forgery or fraud at 4:34 p.m.

A caller from James Avenue reported a missing person, who was later found.

Wednesday, May 4

A caller reported a suspicious car on Drift Road at 12:49 a.m. Police initiated three other suspicious auto stops on State shortly thereafter: One on 1:36 a.m., one at 2:40 a.m. and a third at State Road and Bower Avenue at 3:02 a.m. A fourth came in from Cornell Road at 5:42 a.m.

William Greaves, 66, of 11 Reed Road, was arrested on a warrant after police received a call aobut a disabled car at Forge and State roads at 11:53 a.m.

A caller from Benoit Street reported larceny, forgery or fraud at 1:26 p.m.

A caller reported a road hazard at State Road and Greenwood Ave., but police found no sign of it.

A caller reported a neighbor dispute on Dionne Street at 3:16 p.m.

Thursday, May 5

Police helped deal with a road hazard reported on Sanford Road at 11 a.m.

A walk in from Sanford Road reported breaking and entering into a car.

A caller from D Drive reported the violation of a restraining order.

A caller reported an accident on Main Road at 4:56 p.m.

A caller to 911 reported a suspicious car on Route 88 at 7 p.m.

Friday, May 6

Police initiated suspicious auto stops on Old Bedford Road at 2:36 a.m. and State Road at 3:39 a.m.

Saturday, May 7

A caller to 911 reported a disturbance on Maynard Avenue at 12:43 a.m.

A 911 caller from Thomas Street reported a stolen car at 10:15 a.m.

A caller reported suspicious activity on Hix Bridge Road just after 2:30 p.m.

Sunday, May 8

Police investigated a disturbance on State Road just before 1 a.m.

A caller reported a missing person from Hix Bridge Road at 6:28 a.m.

A caller from Horseneck Road reported a suspicious car at 7:41 a.m.

A Faulkner Street resident filed an animal complaint at 8:08 p.m.

Monday, May 9

A caller from Conserve Avenue reported the violation of a restraining order at 6:59 a.m.

A caller from Gifford Road complained about a civil dispute just before 3 p.m.

Tuesday, May 10

A caller to 911 reported a motor vehicle violation on Main Road at 7:15 a.m. Police were unable to locate the car.

A walk-in from Main Road reported threats just after 10 a.m.

Wednesday, May 11

A caller from Lawton Lane complained about solicitors at 1:56 p.m.

A Beeden Place resident reported the violation of a restraining order at 6:01 p.m.

A caller to 911 reported a disturbance on Sanford Road at 9:44 p.m.

Thursday, May 12

A caller from Beeden Place reported a disturbance at 2:15 p.m.

Friday, May 13

Police assisted a motorist with car trouble on Briggs Road at 10:14 a.m.

A caller from White Oak Run reported suspicious activity at 10:35 p.m.

Saturday, May 14

A caller to 911 reported an accident at Sanford Road and Summer Avenue at 2:19 p.m.

Police assisted a motorist with car trouble on American Legion Highway, near Jordans Way, at 4:55 p.m.

Logan James Pacheco, 28, of 15 Pratt Ave., was charged with operating under the influence, second offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and following too closely, after a caller to 911 reported an accident on Route 88 at 8:45 p.m.

Sunday, May 15

A caller to 911 reported a disturbance on State Road at 1:24 p.m.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
