Westport police: Fall River man charged with DUI

Monday, Sept. 12

A 911 caller reported a car accident on Horseneck Road at 8:41 a.m. Another accident was called in from State Road just after 9 a.m.

A caller reported suspicious activity on Cornell Road at 8:16 p.m.

A caller reported a suspicious car on Main Road just before midnight.

Tuesday, Sept. 13

A caller from Hix Bridge Road reported a missing person at 12:52 a.m.

Police spoke with a Hix Bridge Road resident about a report of larceny, forgery or fraud.

Police responded to a disturbance on Briggs Road after a resident called 911 at 10:09 a.m.

Police served a restraining order on Crane Avenue shortly after 3 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 14

Police investigated a suspicious car on State Road just before 2 a.m.

Police assisted a motorist whose car was disabled on Briggs Road, after receiving a call just after 4 a.m.

A caller reported a driving infraction at Sanford and State roads at 5:24 a.m. Police tried but could not locate the car.

Police attempted but were unable to serve a restraining order on Grand Pine Way at 10:30 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a disturbance on American Legion Highway just before 1 p.m., but police said the call was unfounded.

Police assisted after a caller to 911 reported a disturbance on Sylvana Street at 2:34 p.m.

Police took a report after two callers reported a disturbance on Grove Street shortly before 7:30 p.m.

Police served a restraining order on Grand Pine Way.

Friday, Sept. 16

A caller complained of a suspicious car on Drift Road at 4:45 a.m.

Police served a restraining order on Tickle Road at 11:04 a.m.

A caller from East Briggs Road complained of solicitors just after noon.

A caller from D Driver asked police to keep the peace at 1:26 a.m.

Saturday, Sept. 17

Justin Sanchez, 31, of 75 Boutwell St., Apt. 3W, Fall River, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and cited for a marked lane violation, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without an inspection sticker, after police pulled him over at State Road and Washington Street at 2:01 a.m.

Police logged a 911 call at 2:51 a.m. regarding a motor vehicle violation.

A 911 caller reported a motor vehicle accident at Route 88 and Briggs Road at 6:10 a.m.

A walk-in reported an accident at Main and Adamsville roads at 11:55 a.m.

A caller from Lighthouse Lane reported a suspicious car at 1:31 p.m.

Maria Angel Carreiro, 52, of 7 Maynard St., Apt. 1, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, second offense, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and cited for a marked lane violation, after a caller to 911 reported a suspicious car at 5:42 p.m.

A caller from American Legion Highway reported suspicious activity at 6:43 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 18

Police assisted a motorist whose car was disabled on State Road at 2:13 a.m.

A caller from Gifford Road reported a suspicious person at 12:31 p.m.
