Westport police: Three arrested on warrants

Monday, Jan. 6

A 911 caller reported an animal issue on L Drive at 3:18 p.m.

Police served a restraining order on Drift Road at 4:35 p.m., after being unsuccessful at 3:30 p.m.

Police investigated a suspicious activity report phoned in by a 911 caller on Main Road at 8:32 p.m., but made no arrests.

Police pulled 13 vehicles over over the course of the day, citing eight drivers, warning four others and assisting one.

Tuesday, Jan. 7

A Main Road caller complained of larceny, forgery or fraud at 11:49 a.m.

Animal complaints came in from Fisher Road at 1:48 p.m.

A 911 call for a structure fire on Peckham Lane was transferred to the fire department at 6:11 p.m.

A 911 caller asked police to keep the peace on Old Bedford Road just after 6:30 p.m. Police noted that peace was restored.

Police pulled five vehicles over over the course of the day, citing four drivers and warning one.

Wednesday, Jan. 8

Police were asked to keep the peace on East Briggs Road at 10:44 a.m., on Sanford Road at 2:30 p.m. and again on East Briggs Road at 6:51 p.m.

A 911 call regarding a brush fire on Mouse Mill Road was transferred to the fire department at 11:27 a.m.

A 911 caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Almada Street at 5:25 p.m.

Police pulled three vehicles over over the course of the day, citing two drivers and warning one.

Thursday, Jan. 9

Robert Costa, 42, of 772 Second St., Apt. 7, Fall River, was arrested on an unspecified warrant after police investigated a suspicious person on State Road at 9:06 a.m.

Police pulled nine vehicles over over the course of the day, citing four drivers and warning three.

Friday, Jan. 10

A 911 call regarding a structure fire on Robert Street was transferred to the fire department at 12:11 p.m.

Police pulled seven vehicles over over the course of the day, citing two drivers and warning five.

Saturday, Jan. 11

Police assisted after a caller from Drift Road reported suspicious activity at 7:41 a.m.

A caller reported an unwanted person on Drift Road at 4:36 p.m.

Police pulled six vehicles over over the course of the day, citing one driver and warning two.

Sunday, Jan. 12

A caller from Old Bedford Road asked police to keep the peace at 7:43 a.m.

Daniel John Gianitsis, 51, of 53 1/2 Seaverns Bridge Road, Amherst, NH, was arrested on two unspecified warrants after police pulled him over on Route 88 at 11:05 a.m.

Jose Miguel Bautista, 32, of 45 Salimon St., Apt. 2, Providence, was arrested on a straight warrant following an accident on Old Bedford Road at 1:31 p.m.

Animal complaints came in from Rita Drive at 6:26 p.m.

Israel Hernandez Buchan, 27, of 35 Dean St., Apt. 1E, New Bedford, was arrested on an unspecified warrant after police pulled him over on State Road at 6:51 p.m.

Police pulled eight vehicles over over the course of the day, citing five drivers, warning one and arresting two.
