PORTSMOUTH — A 27-year-old Fall River woman had her 5-year-old child in her vehicle when she was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) on Sunday, May 11, according to police.

Woman arrested for DUI with 5-year-old in car

PORTSMOUTH — A 27-year-old Fall River woman had her 5-year-old child in her vehicle when she was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) on Sunday, May 11, according to police.

While investigating a motor vehicle accident in the area of Patriot Petroleum, 2340 East Main Road, at about 6:13 p.m., police received a separate 911 call regarding an erratic driver who struck the curbing and was pulling into the gas station’s lot, police said.

The driver attempted to exit the lot, but was pulled over. The driver, identified as Christina G. Santos, of 338 Ferry St., 3W, demonstrated signs of impairment, and her 5-year-old child was a passenger in the vehicle, according to police. 

Santos was charged at 6:39 p.m. with DUI while carrying a passenger under the age of 13, her first offense. She was also cited for refusing a chemical test.

Wednesday, May 7

Marlio Caitano Silva, 28, of 2084 Pleasant St., Floor 1 Rear, Fall River, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under a foreign license that had been suspended or revoked. Caitano Silva was pulled over on Chase Road at Boyds Lane around 4:10 p.m.

Kyle Michael Parker, 35, of 72 Barbara Lane,  Swansea, was arrested on a warrant that had been issued by the Woonsocket Police Department after being pulled over for a traffic violation on East Main Road at Sequoia Lane around 6:50 p.m.

Keith Bryson Richards, 44, of 41 Pleasant View Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct. Officers made the arrest at Richards’s home around 9:20 p.m., based on an affidavit warrant that had been issued for a previous incident, police said.

Friday, May 9

Alector Francisco Soares, 42, of 1270 Pleasant St., Brockton, Mass., was arrested in the area of Railroad Avenue and the Sakonnet River Bridge around 7:25 p.m. after officers received a report of several men consuming alcoholic beverages at the location, according to police. Soares, who refused to provide identification, displayed signs of impairment and officers observed several alcoholic beverages and containers in the area, police said. Soares was charged with obstructing officer in execution of duty, and illegal consumption of alcohol in parks and on beaches. He was later issued summonses to appear in the town’s Municipal Court as well as 2nd District Court in Newport, police said. 

Saturday, May 10

Olivia Joanne Fryzel, 27, of 1226 Dartmouth Woods Drive, North Dartmouth, Mass., was charged with DUI, first offense, after being pulled over for speeding on West Main Road at Russo Road at about 2:20 a.m.

Matthew M. Roethlein, 23, of 1010 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, was charged with DUI, first offense, after being pulled over on Route 24 North at Freeborn Street around 10:15 p.m. for moving violations. Roethlein was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Sunday, May 11

Angelo Manuel Cabral Oliveira, 68, of 32 Saint Elizabeth St., Bristol, was arrested following a motor vehicle crash in the area of Boyds Lane and Bristol Ferry Road shortly before 6 p.m. No one was injured in the accident, according to police, but Oliveira showed multiple signs of intoxication and was charged with DUI, first offense, and cited for refusing a chemical test. Oliveira was also charged with simple assault because he later became combative with officers, according to police.
