Ethel M. Lake, 93, passed away peacefully at her home of 70 years surrounded by her loving family on December 10, 2021.  She was the wife of the late Donald H. Lake.

Ethel was born in Fall River and was the daughter of the late George H. and Gladys(King)Westcott.

Mrs. Lake was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School and the former Union Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to have a distinguished career as a registered nurse for 37 years until her retirement. She enjoyed hooking rugs with the Sakonnet Hookers. She and her husband, Donald, were two of the founding members of the Tiverton Athletic Boosters Club, staying active members for many years. Ethel was longtime member of the Tiverton Garden Club, the former Central Baptist Church and the Union Hospital Alumni and Retirees. She loved participating in family gatherings, especially on Halloween and Christmas. Ethel loved fireworks, sunsets, annual visits to Squam Lake N.H. to visit with good friends, and boating excursions to Potter’s Cove with her entire family. She especially loved attending games, concerts, dance recitals, or any event her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews participated in. Ethel loved being surrounded by her family any time of the year.  Her dedication and love as a mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother inspired family unity and love. She will be missed by her family, members of her community and countless friends.

Mrs. Lake is survived by her children, Stephen Lake and his wife Joanne of Portsmouth,

Susan Soares and her husband Jeffrey, Douglas Lake and his companion Lynn Nicholas, and Deborah Morgan and her husband David all of Tiverton;  her grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Stephanie, Jessica and her husband Joshua, Ana, Mary and her husband David, David and his fiancée Erin, Ryan and his companion Helen, Nicholas and his wife Pauline, and Allie and her fiancé Matt; her great-grandchildren Dakota, Jacob, and Evan and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late George Westcott, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 4 to 8 pm in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St.,
