Loved nothing more than time with her family

Mary A. Medeiros, 89, of Tiverton, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2021. She was the former wife of the late Joseph G. Medeiros. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Viveiros) Costa.

She was very generous with helping others, especially those in need. She loved spending time with family, caring for her home and cherished pets. Her skill at making her home beautiful during the holidays was truly remarkable, nothing made her happier than seeing all of her loved ones gathered around the table. She was also a communicant of St. Theresa’s Church.

Mary is survived by her daughters Donna Lawson of Ledyard, CT, Patricia Medeiros of Westport, MA; siblings Alfred Costa, James Costa, George Costa, and Marion Mayo; grandchild Timothy Walker; great-grandchild Connor Walker. She was predeceased by her siblings Edward Costa, Manuel Costa, Antone Costa Jr., Joseph Costa, Elsie Ferreira, and Robert Costa.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian burial at St. Theresa’s Church, Tiverton, RI at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 6. Private Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday morning prior to the mass from 10 to 11 A.M. at Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton, RI.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA)  https://rispca.com in her memory.
