Photo Gallery: Huskies trounce Tigers, 29-8, in injury fund game

Mt. Hope senior quarterback Aidan Ramaglia led the Division II, Mt. Hope football team, over Division IV, Tiverton, 29-8, in an injury fund game in Tiverton on Friday evening. 

Ramaglia connected with senior wide receiver, Bruce McGuire, on a, 25 yard pass, down the right sideline, for a first quarter, touchdown. Ramaglia was, 7 of 14, for 106 yards through the air and the quarterback gained 62 yards on three carries in one half of play.

Huskies score early and often 

Junior running back Brock Pacheco put the Huskies on the score board in the first quarter. Pacheco took a handoff from Ramaglia, broke through the line and cut left across the field for a 30 yard score. Place kicker, Avery Robitaille, kicked the extra point through the uprights to give Mt. Hope a, 7-0 lead. Robitaille made all three extra points during the game. 

On the Tiverton 27 yard-line, Ramaglia hoisted a bomb towards the right corner. McGuire sped to the end zone, turned, leaped and caught the ball for a Huskies touchdown, to make the score, 14-0.

In the second quarter, Mt. Hope cornerback Riley Howland picked off Tiger’s junior quarterback, Benjamin Sowa, on the Tiverton 27 yard-line. Howland sprinted out to the right sideline and dove for the pylon for the third Huskies touchdown for a 21-0 lead. Mt. Hope defensive lineman, Atley Jenness pressured Sowa on the play.

  Second half

The teams mixed in their junior varsity players in the second half. Tiverton scored in the third quarter. Freshman quarterback Benjamin Troia ran it in from the 9 yard-line and freshman running back Aiden Champ scored a two-point conversion to cut the lead to, 21-8.

Mt. Hope freshman running back Andrew Rhynard scored a 2 yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Rhynard also ran it in for a two-point conversion to make the score, 29-8.
