PORTSMOUTH — A local man who was seen allegedly looking into vehicles on Bristol Ferry Road on Monday afternoon, Nov. 7, was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct.
According to police, officers responded to 250 Bristol Ferry Road after getting a call for service at 1 p.m. The caller reported that a man was walking in the area of the residence and looking into vehicles on the property, according to police.
When confronted by one of the vehicle owners the man, later identified as Steven Joseph Roderiques, 41, of 165 Mill Lane, began to yell profanities “while rapidly closing the distance between himself and one of the reporting parties in an aggressive and threatening manner,” according to police.
Roderiques was directed to leave the property and he eventually complied, walking southbound on Bristol Ferry Road, where he was stopped by officers, police said. Roderiques continued yelling profanities at officers, who arrested him, police said.

Andrew Lawson O’Donnell, 35, of 60 Sloop Drive, was charged at about 4 p.m. with leaving the scene of an accident, with damaging resulting to an attended vehicle.
Wednesday, Nov. 9
Corey Micholas Chiodo, 34, of 325 Broadway 3, Newport, was charged with reckless driving following a motor vehicle stop on Route 24 North at Cedar Island around 5:10 p.m.
Dawn Marie Thomas, 37, of 460 Charles St., Providence. Was charged with possession of a controlled substance following a motor vehicle stop on West Main Road at Bayview Apartments around 9:35 p.m. According to police, Thomas had two active warrants for her arrest. At about 11:20 p.m., she was transferred to the custody of Rhode Island State Police at the Warren/Swansea line, police said.
Thursday, Nov. 10
Peter Joseph Nielsen, 31, of 185 East Road, Tiverton, was charged at about 6:35 p.m. with driving under the influence (DUI), his second offense, following a motor vehicle accident on West Main Road at Hedly Street. Nielsen was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, police said.
Saturday, Nov. 12
Eamonn Michael Connelly, 20, of 15 Hope Ave., was charged with DUI, first offense. Officers found his vehicle pulled over and running on the side of the Common Fence Point Access Road around 3:20 a.m., with no hazard lights on, according to police. Officers observed an unopened alcoholic beverage in plain view in the rear of the vehicle. Connelly was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test, as well as underage possession of alcohol, first offense, according to police.
