Miles Dolan, Ellis Brittelle and Henry Alfonso blasted home runs to lead the Barrington Majors Division All-Star baseball team to a 7-2 win over Warren on Tuesday night, July 13.

Miles crushed his in the first inning and Ellis hit his bomb in the fifth, while Henry blasted two — one in the third and another one in the fifth. Barrington Manager Will LoVerme had been waiting for the offensive explosion from his team.

“They were simmering for weeks,” Coach LoVerme said. “Finally the bats turned on and it was remarkable.”

The win propels Barrington into the elimination bracket final against Rumford on Wednesday, July 14. The game will be played in Rumford at Kimberly Ann Rock Field at 5:45 p.m.

Barrington opened up an early lead with two runs in the first inning, but Warren battled back with two runs in the second. In fact, Warren threatened to score even more runs, loading the bases with no outs. But Barrington pitcher Finn LoVerme settled down and struck out the side. LoVerme pitched a complete game victory.

Seniors win

The Barrington Little League Senior Division All-Star baseball team defeated Smithfield/Woonsocket 13-0 in an elimination bracket game in Pawtucket on Tuesday night, July 13.

Barrington's Matt Davis and Dustin Berkowitz shared pitching duties. Ryan Machado highlighted a strong hitting performance for the Barrington team with a monstrous home run.

Barrington will play Thursday night against the loser of the Johnston vs. Coventry game.
