Kathryn M. (Maguire) Blackburn, 76, Warren

Kathryn M. “Kathy” (Maguire) Blackburn, age 76, of Warren, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 at Newport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Raymond H. Blackburn to whom she had been married 51 years.

Born in New Bedford, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Francis and Grace (Keen) Maguire.

Kathy graduated from UMass Dartmouth where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree. She worked as a chemist for UniRoyal for several years prior to retiring to raise her family.

A 3rd degree black belt in Karate, Kathy was also a model train enthusiast, a New England sports and Providence Friars fan and loved doing yard work.

Besides her devoted husband, Kathy is survived by her son, Daniel R. Blackburn of Warren; two brothers, John and Francis Maguire both of Washington; one sister, Mary Van Wagonner of New York; an aunt, Marguerite Dunham, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Her family will welcome relatives and friends at 9:30 a.m. in Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St, Warren, followed by a Service in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathy’s memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
