Ronald Henry Fleet, 78, of Anderson, SC, passed away on August 18, 2020.

Ron was the son of the late Samuel Henry Fleet and the late Florence Rose Dallaire Fleet of Warren, RI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Madeline Soares of Warren, RI and brother Roger Fleet, of Wyoming, RI.
He is survived by his wife of forty-plus years, Deborah D Fleet (Paquette), and his sons, Michael Fleet, and Daniel Fleet, grandsons Amarynth, Connor, and Liam; niece Carol Kerwin and her husband Tom, nephew Rich Soares, nephew Robert Paquette, John Paquette, Joshua Paquette, Andy Paquette, Nieces April Paquette, Deanna Ingbretson, and Lynda McMillan, and many great nephews and great nieces. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Robert M Paquette and “Frenchy” Paquette, and sisters-in-law Anne Fleet and Linda Paquette.

Ron spent the first half of his working life in the jewelry industry in Rhode Island, especially enjoying working as a model maker, silver smith and goldsmith. In 1985 he was called into the ministry and ministered to congregations of the Church of Christ in Louisiana, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Virginia, as well as enjoying the opportunity to preach the gospel elsewhere, as far away as Manila in the Philippines. After his retirement from the pulpit in 2018, Ron and his wife enjoyed a cross country adventure visiting family, friends and churches and seeing beauty in God’s nature.

In 2019 Ron and his wife settled with their oldest son in Greenville, SC, to attend to health needs and spend time with their youngest grandson. He enjoyed movies, writing, camping, sailing, canoeing, fishing, tying flies, and loved God’s Word.

The family will host an online service soon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gander Brook Christian Camp https://www.ganderbrook.org/ or to New England School of Preaching South Road Church of Christ (put NEBI in memo line). Address – South Road Church of Christ, 69 South Road, Farmington, CT 06032.
