Steven “Ducky” K. Disano, 57, of Warren

Steven “Ducky” K. Disano, 57, of Warren, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at Warren Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation. The son of the late Albert and Zenith (Donati) Disano, he was a long-time resident of Warren.

Although Steven lived most of his life within a block of Mechanics Engine Co. #2 and never drove a car, he was a long-time member of the Fire Company and could guide the Machine Chauffeur to any address in Bristol County from memory. No matter the weather, he was frequently seen working on the station’s yard and, when snow fell, behind the station with a snowblower clearing half of the Water Street sidewalks for our neighbors in his shorts and sleeveless shirt … a true “Northend Character,” he will be missed.

Steven is survived by his brothers, Albert Disano of Warren and Michael Disano. He was the brother of the late Cindy Janus of New York and Robin Disano.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St., Warren. Burial will be at St. Alexanders Cemetery, Warren. For tributes or details, please visit www.wjsmithfh.com.

“Ducky” was a simple man. If he liked you, he would do anything to help you, but if he didn’t … If you are of a mind to remember Steve in a special way, stop by Station 2 anytime and plant a flower or a boxwood, just sit awhile and smell them in the spring, or do something for a Northend Neighbor, like shovel snow or rake some leaves.
