Fresh flowers on the table, paired with locally made pasta and perhaps a glass of wine, should be adorning kitchen tables everywhere this time of year — and all locally sourced, of course. The new Sakonnet Green Market makes its debut this week on Thursday, June 19 and has all of the above and more for visitors to take home to their kitchen tables.

This summer, the Tiverton Farmers’ Market has collaborated with Sakonnet Vineyards to create this new event called the Sakonnet Green Market. It will take place on Thursday afternoons, from 3 to 6 p.m. on the picturesque grounds of Sakonnet Vineyard — the oldest vineyard in the region.

Guests are invited to sip on some wine, stroll through the grounds, and explore the market vendors, which will include: bakers, local seafood producers, jams and jellies, BBQ sauces, spices, herbalists, fresh flowers, textiles, jewelry, pottery and ceramics, clothing, artists, local non-profits, and freshly made pasta from Little Rhody Pasta.

Visitors can bring a blanket to sit out on the lawn or use the tables and chairs already in place, relax with a glass of wine in hand, enjoying some amazing food from the vendors at the market. Or they can bring the fresh goodies home to their kitchen tables for a true “farm to table” experience — and a reminder of the wonderfully delicious foods and wines made right here in Rhode Island.
