The arrest came after Quinn was pulled over on West Main Road at King Charles Drive at about 4:35 p.m. While in custody, Quinn did not comply with officers’ orders and refused to get into a police cruiser, according to police.

Conor Patrick Maher, 18, of 648 Main St., Warren, turned himself in at the police station shortly before 2 p.m. on an affidavit arrest warrant. The warrant was the result of an incident at Portsmouth High School on May 16, when Maher was in possession of knives over three inches in length, police said.

Friday, May 23

Gustavo C. Silva, 23, of 15 Davey Lane, was charged with attempted larceny of over $1,500, and injuring or tampering with vehicles. Officers responded to Oliveira’s Garage, 3279 East Main Road, at 11 a.m. to investigate a report of an attempted larceny of a vehicle. A man told police his vehicle was parked and running with the keys in the ignition as he attempted to fill the rear driver’s side tire with air. A man later identified as Silva then walked past him, entered the vehicle, and depressed the accelerator — apparently unaware the vehicle was a manual transmission and was in neutral, police said. After Silva made another attempt to drive away, the vehicle’s owner confronted him and Silva left the area on foot, according to police. He was later located and positively identified by the vehicle owner, police said.
