Warren Police responded to multiple hit and run incidents, got a report of a loose cow, and made three arrests between Feb. 27 and March 6, 2023.
Monday, Feb. 27
Police spoke to the driver of a school bus at Hugh Cole School at 8:02 a.m. who was reportedly driving erratically and cut off another driver, who called police.
A rescue truck reportedly struck a parked car near Main and Joyce Streets at 10:01 a.m.
Barrington and Warren police assisted a suicidal person near Touisset Road. The incident ended with the person being transported to a hospital.
Authorities disposed of hypodermic needles found on the ground near Kickemuit and Serpentine Roads at 2:00 p.m.
A woman was served a no trespass order at 7:09 p.m. following a report that she was intoxicated and might have attempted to shoplift from a store on Metacom Avenue.
Tuesday, Feb. 28
An accident on Metacom Avenue resulted in damage to a fence, but no injures, at 12:20 a.m.
A caller reported a tractor trailer damaged a building on Main Street while turning, around 8:24 a.m.
Brandon Almeida, 18, of Riverside, was arrested at 10:26 a.m. following a report of a parked vehicle being struck by another vehicle. He was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and was transported to the ACI later that day.
An officer was bitten by a cat while performing a wellbeing check on a resident of Main Street at 3:11 p.m.
Wednesday, March 1
Police were called to Miller and Water Streets at 7:52 a.m. for a report that a trash truck wouldn’t move to let a school bus through. Eventually, the truck did move without needing police action.
A caller reported that there was a man on an e-bike who was yelling at people and making threats near Child and Redmond Streets at 12:45 p.m.
Thursday, March 2
A hit and run accident was reported near State and Main Streets at 4:43 p.m. Police caught up with the suspected vehicle involved shortly afterward.
Another hit and run was reported involving a parked car on Company Street at 6:51 p.m. The suspected vehicle was located shortly afterwards.
Friday, March 3
Police reported that a juvenile made a threat towards a school on Child Street at 2:15 p.m.
Police followed up on a hit and run that occurred at Miller and Water Streets at 2:47 p.m. and continued into Barrington. They were able to identify the driver, who came forward to give his information.
Saturday, March 4
A rescue truck reportedly hit a vehicle near Main and Child Streets at 9:26 a.m.
A caller on Cutler Street reported at 5:35 p.m. that a door mat was stolen from their front porch.
Shawn Brant, 46, of Bristol, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop at Vernon and Cottage Streets at 8:49 p.m. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. He was arraigned and released later that evening.
Sunday, March 5
Robert Mark Negrotti, 25, of Warren, was arrested following an incident on Munro Avenue at 12:04 a.m. He was charged with three counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, obstructing a telephone, and disorderly conduct, all first offenses). He was arraigned and released later that morning.
A sick raccoon was reported in the area of Water Street at 8:20 a.m. but it wasn’t at the scene when authorities arrived.
A woman on Manchester Avenue reported a loose cow in her yard at 12:00 p.m.
Warren PD assisted Fall River’s police department in searching for two missing juveniles.
