Warren PD: Man urged to stop feeding neighbor’s dog

Monday, Aug. 19

Ryan Nieves, 22, no address known, was arrested on Washington Street by police in Providence at 12:33 p.m. for an active warrant out of Warren. He was charged with larceny (less than $1,500) and fraudulent use of a credit card (less than 100 instances in a six-month period).

Police dispersed people from Railroad Avenue at 2:02 p.m. following a report of fighting.

A rescue was called for a man on Water Street at 4:04 p.m. after someone reported he was apparently sleeping in bushes by the water.

A juvenile was dispersed from the area of Ridgeway Drive and Metacom Avenue at 5:01 p.m. following a report they were playing in a “salt/sand mixture” at the scene.

Police had to intervene on Metacom Avenue at 9:53 p.m. following a report someone tried to leave an establishment without paying their tab.

Tuesday, Aug. 20

A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested on Metacom Avenue at 12:21 a.m. following a report from their mother that they were acting unruly in the house throwing items around. They were charged with vandalism and disorderly conduct and were later released to the custody of a grandparent.

Authorities transported an injured bird on Croade Street to a wildlife rehabilitation facility at 11:14 a.m.

Cameron Tavares, 18, of 750 Main St., Warren, was arrested on Cutler Street with an active warrant. They were charged with a Bench Warrant issued from 3rd District Court. They were later arraigned and released.

Police dispersed a man who was lying down on the bike path near Wood Street at 7:56 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

An injured fawn was reported on Child Street at 3:28 a.m. Unfortunately, authorities had to inform the calling party nobody could transport the animal to a wildlife rehab until 7:00 a.m. when they begin work.

Brenda R. Perreault, 51, of 28 Wood St., Apt. #1R, Warren, was arrested on Wood Street at 6:50 p.m. She was charged with two counts of domestic violence (vandalism, first offense, and disorderly conduct, first offense). She was later arraigned and released.

Thursday, Aug. 22

Police dispersed a woman at 3:21 a.m. who was sleeping in the lobby of a building on Joyce Street.

Police received a report of a white pigeon with a leg band on Overhill Road at 8:18 p.m. that seemed like it might belong to someone. It as transported to the animal shelter and a pigeon rehabilitation facility was contacted to pick up the bird the following morning.

Jeremiah J. Nunes, 25, of 28 Munro Ave., Warren, was arrested at 9:45 p.m. following a motor vehicle accident near Metacom Avenue and Laurel Lane at 9:21 p.m. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was transported to the hospital, then back to headquarters for processing, and was transported to court on Friday morning.

Friday, Aug. 23

Police assisted a Palagis Ice Cream truck near Kinnicutt Avenue and Schoolhouse Road at 1:03 p.m. after it become disabled in the road.

A summons was issued following an accident involving a car and a motorcycle on Metacom Avenue at 3:55 p.m. The motorcyclist refused a trip to the hospital.

A Patterson Avenue resident reported at 4:12 p.m. that someone had sold or given away their dog while they were hospitalized.

Saturday, Aug. 24

Authorities had to extricate a person from a vehicle following an accident near Market and Adams Streets at 4:42 p.m.

Susan H. Mazurak, 72, of 2 Anthony Rd., Barrington, was arrested after their vehicle reportedly struck a parked car on Water Street at 7:49 p.m. They were charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a chemical test. They were later arraigned and released.

Sunday, Aug. 25

A Main Street resident told police at 7:38 a.m. that a neighbor had threatened their dog because it was being loud.

The animal control officer responded to Oak Street at 1:06 p.m. for the report of a possibly sick raccoon. Upon seeing a family of raccoons living on the roof, the resident was referred to a pest control company.

Four callers made noise complaints within two hours of one another regarding the summer concert series at Burr’s Hill between 5:50 p.m. and 7:47 p.m.

Police responded to Buffalo Avenue at 7:26 p.m. after a resident reported a neighbor continues to throw food over the fence for his dogs despite asking the neighbor to stop. Police said they advised the neighbor to stop the behavior as well.

Police dispersed a person driving a small gas powered bike near Miller and Union Streets at 10:06 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 26

Police responded to Barker Avenue at 3:19 a.m. after receiving a report that a woman was stuck in an elevator. They were successfully recovered from the elevator 12 minutes later by fire personnel.
