Monday, March 13
Police looked into a report that two people were possibly drinking and smoking on Market Street at 1:25 p.m. They found they were simply resting and smoking cigarettes.

Police assisted an elderly man who needed help starting his car near Main and Park Streets at 1:34 p.m.

A Cherry Street resident reported at 4:52 p.m. that their license and some other mail was stolen.

Police assisted in peacefully ending a dispute among two men in the roadway on Metacom Avenue at 7:21 p.m. involving loud music.

Tuesday, March 14
A Main Street resident reported being harassed at 8:49 a.m.

Police logged a report that a school bus van had been involved in an accident on Arlington Avenue at 2:52 p.m. No injuries were reported.

A Market Street caller reported that a juvenile had been consistently harassing a member of their family and threw potatoes at their residence the prior night.

A sizable amount of oil reportedly leaked out of the building at 450 Main St., which was cleaned up by special hazards at 6:29 p.m.

Wednesday, March 15
A motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian being struck was reported on Main Street at 10:07 a.m. The person was reportedly conscious and alert.

A solicitor was reported on Wood Street at 4:32 p.m. Since he didn’t have a permit to do so, he was dispersed.

A message was left for DPW at 5:11 p.m. regarding some of the town’s holiday lights hanging down low in the breakdown lane near Main and Market Streets.

Sage burning in an apartment on Arlington Avenue was the likely cause of an audible fire alarm heard at 6:59 p.m.

An injured swan was reported on Water Street at 9:51 p.m. Sadly, the animal perished prior to the officer’s arrival. A note was left for the animal control officer regarding the animal.

Thursday, March 16
A caller on Main Street reported at 7:06 a.m. that the same juvenile continuously knocks on her window each morning while waiting for the school bus.

Christopher Silva, 36, of Warren, was arrested on a warrant at 10:43 a.m. after briefly attempting to flee from the police station on foot. He was charged with making crank telephone calls and disorderly conduct.

Goats were reported in the roadway on Child Street at 11:50 a.m. Shortly afterwards they were returned to their rightful home.

Justin O’Neill, 34, of Fall River, Mass., was arrested following a motor vehicle stop near Serpentine and Kickemuit Roads at 9:31 p.m. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC .10-.15, first offense), and possession of weapons other than firearms. He was arraigned and released to the custody of a friend early the following morning.

Friday, March 17
Anthony Cabral, 52, of Fall River, Mass., was arrested following a motor vehicle stop near Child and Main Streets at 2:44 a.m. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. He was arraigned and released to the custody of a friend later that morning.

Police dispersed a man who was loitering on Main Street asking for money at 10:19 a.m.

A caller reported at 5:02 p.m. that there was a man hitting golf balls into the water on Market Street who may have been aiming for swans. He was advised and dispersed from the scene.

Brenda Almeida, 56, and Justin Almeida, 26, both of Barrington, were arrested following an incident that occurred on Main Street beginning at 11:46 p.m. Brenda Almeida was charged with obstructing an officer in the execution of duty and disorderly conduct. Justin Almeida was charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

Saturday, March 18
An injured cat, believed to be feral, was reported on Nobert Street at 6:12 p.m.

Police called a rescue for a man who was reported at 10:01 p.m. to be in and out of consciousness near Child and Turner Streets.

A rescue was requested for a man who was reportedly loitering and yelling in the area of Washington Street at 11:12 p.m.

Sunday, March 19
Police dispersed people yelling on Metacom Avenue at 5:38 a.m.

Police looked for vehicles that were reportedly doing donuts in the area of New Industrial Avenue at 3:25 p.m. but they were gone when police arrived.

Police assisted someone on Market Street who was looking for directions at 3:40 p.m.

Kayla Sullivan, 23, of Warren, was arrested following an incident on Metacom Avenue that occurred at 11:18 p.m. She was charged with two counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, and disorderly conduct, both first offenses). She was arraigned and released early the following morning.
