Another female alleged she was being harassed by an unknown party at her residence. Officers referred her to the landlord for further assistance.

A third harassment call was deemed to have been unfounded by the responding officers. The parties were advised and dispersed.

The last complaint of the day was of the noise variety. A female caller said she hear a person speaking vulgarly near her Main Street residence. Again, police advised the complainant the matter was better tenant/landlord and should be followed up accordingly.

Tuesday, Dec. 31
Officers responded to a call of an injured animal on Beach Street at approximately 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival, a skunk was found to lying against a vehicle. The animal was up and moving, but not in a condition to be moved from the location.

Later in the day, Warren PD made two arrests. The first followed a call of a domestic disturbance on Hezekiah Drive at about 9:45 p.m. A male party reported a brick had been thrown at him, requiring a trip to hospital. Police eventually charged Matthew E. Benson, 29, of 15 Hezekiah Drive, Warren, with domestic violence - felony assault and/or battery and domestic violence - disorderly conduct - 1st offense. The alleged assailant was eventually arraigned and released.

The other followed a motor vehicle stop at Main and Mill Streets at around 11:15 p.m. Jonathan A. Bennett, 33, of 6 Governor Bradford Drive, Barrington, was arrested on charges of DUI of liquor - blood alcohol concentration unknown - 1st offense and refusal to submit chemical test. The alleged was later arraigned and released.

Thursday, Jan. 2

Friday, Jan. 3
A civil dispute between a landlord and tenant on Federal Street was arbitrated by police at about 4:10 p.m. The occupant claimed the owner was attempting to enter the apartment without notice. The landlord explained the tenant was not allowing a lead inspector into the unit. The owner sent a new notice of intent to enter and the inspector would return at a later date.

Saturday, Jan. 4

Sunday, Jan. 5
An East Providence man was arrested in town on Market Street at about 2:55 p.m. after police received a call of an apparently intoxicated male party fleeing a residence through a window. The man was alleged to have broken into a home and held a female against her will. Taylor A. Elmore, 30, of 129 Juniper St., Apt. #1, East Providence, was eventually detained and taken into custody of charges of breaking and entering of dwelling when resident on premises; simple assault and/or battery; resisting legal or illegal arrest; and disorderly conduct.
