Warren police logs: Man charged following 'road rage' incident

Monday, June 14

A dog spotted running loose on Cutler Street was returned by police to its owner.

A car was reported stolen from Barney Avenue.

A Metacom Avenue man called police at 9:51 a.m. to report that his girlfriend had destroyed his TV.

Police restored the peace at a Manning Street home after getting a call about an unruly juvenile.

Police received a complaint about a person urinating in public on Market Street. The subject was gone upon their arrival.

A Miller Street woman told police that someone had written fraudulent checks against her account.

A Metacom Avenue woman told police she was being harassed by a woman who repeatedly knocks on her door. Police spoke to the knocker and advised her of the complaint.

A Miller Street man reported damage to the windshield of his car.

A Metacom Avenue woman reported being harassed by a neighbor. During their investigation, police called for an ambulance to transport a patient to the hospital for alcohol intoxication.

A man called police to report that his young daughter had been assaulted by another juvenile at Jamiel's Park earlier in the day. Police called in the suspect and her mother.

Tuesday, June 15

Police assisted a motorist who ran out of gas in the middle of Arlington Avenue just before 1 a.m.

Police were able to gain access after a Metacom Avenue resident locked himself out of his apartment, with the stove on.

Police looked for but could not locate the subject after getting a call about a person driving with an open container on Water Street.

Dwayne A. Edwards, 61, of 340 Main St., Apt. 9, was charged with assault on a person over 60 and disorderly conduct, after he was picked up on a warrant.

Police were called to Metacom Avenue for a dispute over the removal of a tree limb.

Police checked on the health of a dog locked in a car on Miller Street, after a caller expressed concern. An officer said the dog did not appear to be in any distress.

Police issued a warning to a driver after a caller reported erratic driving on Market Street, with no lights on.

Wednesday, June 16

Police dispersed a person after an employee at a Main Street establishment called police at 2:51 a.m. to report a person sleeping outside of the back door.

A caller from a Metacom Avenue establishment complained that an employee's ex-boyfriend showed up and began to yell at her before leaving.

Police dispersed a skateboarder from in front of Warren Town Hall.

A caller reported a Federal Street resident burning trash.

A caller complained about a large fireworks display at Ridgeway and Evie drives.

A Water Street man reported being the victim of identity fraud.

Thursday, June 17

A Main Street woman reported being abused by her mother.

A caller complained about a dirt biker riding through the cemetery on Massasoit Avenue.

Tobias B. Adams-Cook, 26, of North Kingstown, was charged with simple assault and/or battery and disorderly conduct, after a road rage incident that terminated at Metacom Avenue and Franklin Street.

A caller from Main Street complained about a man talking loudly. Police said it turned out to be noise from a baseball game at Jannitto Field.

A Bridge Street woman complained about a neighbor playing the TV too loud.

A Metacom Avenue man told police that someone stole his bike overnight.

A fireworks complaint came in from Seymour Street.

Police advised two men to quiet down after a complaint about an argument on Metacom Avenue came in at 10:28 p.m.

A Metacom Avenue man called police at 11:28 p.m. after several people came to his front porch and rang the doorbell, he said.

Friday, June 18

A woman on Main Street called police and said her boyfriend would not let her leave.

A breaking and entering was reported on Metacom Avenue just before 2 a.m. Police checked it out and notified Somerset police, asking them to be on the lookout for a car that may have been involved.

Rescue crews took an intoxicated Sisson Street man to the hospital.

A caller reported being repeatedly harassed by two men on the bike path.

Police were called to Market Street for a landlord/tenant issue.

A barrel was reported stolen from Shipyard Lane.

Kyle R. LaFerriere, 30, of Bristol, was arrested on a Bristol warrant for receiving stolen goods.

A caller from Arlington Avenue complained about loud music just before 5:30 p.m.

A caller complained about a traffic light stuck on red at Main and Campbell streets. An officer checked it out and said it appeared to be functioning normally.

A caller complained about excessive smoke from fire pits at Sisson and Water streets, but police said the smoke was not excessive.

A caller told police that several people were trying to steal a bench at the corner of Water and Main streets. They told police they were just moving it to take photos for a catalog.

Saturday, June 19

An anonymous caller complained about people talking loudly on Child Street just before 1 a.m.

A Market Street woman complained that her landlord cut the cable line to her apartment.

A William Street woman spoke to police and asked for a no trespass order, following recent events with her ex-husband.

Police spoke to a Lyndon Street resident and advised him not to pump water from his property out onto the street.

Police got a call about juveniles littering on Market Street.

Joshua D. Thibodeau, 32, of Greenville, RI, was charged with driving with a suspended, revoked or canceled license, first offense, after police pulled him over on Market Street just after 7:30 p.m.

A fireworks complaint came in from Seymour Street. Soon after, another came in from Homestead Avenue.

Police advised Market Street residents to turn down their music after a neighbor complained at 9:20 p.m.

A Market Street man complained that a neighbor was harassing him and attempting to hack into his phone. Police determined the man was having technical difficulties with his own phone.

A caller told police that the driver of a black SUV drove over lawns on Overhill Road. Police pulled over an SUV matching the description on Metacom Avenue, but reported finding no property damage at nearby homes.

Sunday, June 20

A Metacom Avenue caller complained about a couple arguing in a Metacom Avenue apartment.

A woman complained that a painter got overspray on her car, on Long Wharf Drive.

A fireworks call came in from Cherry Street. Soon after, another call came in from the Warren Town Beach, and another from Sisson Street.

Police told a Read Avenue man to extinguish his open burn after getting a call from neighbors.

Drewe B. Carlson, 30, of 289 Main St., second floor, was charged with domestic simple assault/battery, first offense, and domestic disorderly conduct, first offense, after a woman called police at 10:42 p.m. to report a domestic incident with her boyfriend.
