Claire C. Boulay, 90, formerly of Westport

Claire C. Boulay, 90, of Somerset, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Clifton Rehabilitation Nursing Center following a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Jeannette (Auclair) Boulay.

Ms. Boulay was born and raised in Fall River and, prior to relocating to Somerset, had resided in Westport. Following high school, she attended the Truesdale Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1953 and then received her Bachelor's Degree from Boston University in 1958. 

She began her career as an R.N. at the former Truesdale Hospital where she was also the head of instruction for pediatric nursing. She worked there from 1958-1972 and retired from the former Adam's House in 2000. She was president of the Charlton retirees, vice-president of the THSON Alumnae and a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling and was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.

Survivors include her sister, Joan B. Duval and her husband David of Westport; her brother, Dr. Roger J. Boulay of Rochester, NY; eight nephews; along with numerous great and great grand nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Francis A. Boulay and Paul A. Boulay.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Saturday, June 5, at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport, at 10 a.m.

Visitation will be Saturday, from 8-9:30 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, prior to the Mass.

Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Truesdale Hospital Nurses Alumnae Association, P.O. Box 9215, Fall River, MA 02720.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
