Letter: A call to action this Saturday

Posted

This Saturday, April 5, there will be a nationwide peaceful protest and rally against the Trump regime and Elon Musk. The 50501 Movement, HandsOff, and The Women’s March are collaborating efforts to resist the unconstitutional actions, orders, and executive overreach of Donald Trump and Elon Musk. There will be 50 protests in 50 states as one movement.

This has been a movement broadly promoted on social media. I am writing this to those who do not use social media. The news and television media outlets are not reporting on these protests. If you are frustrated, upset, disgusted and horrified by the actions of the Trump regime you have the opportunity to do something. There will be peaceful protests across Rhode Island in tandem with the rest of the country and the world. I urge you to come out and voice your opposition to Trump, Maga and the unelected oligarch Elon Musk. For more information, please go to www.fiftyfifty.one and www.handsoff2025.com.

Protests are being held in Providence and the East Bay at the following places and times: Saturday, April 5, 12 to 1:30 p.m., starting at Hope High School, Providence, marching to Kennedy Plaza; and Statehouse (mall side), marching to Kennedy Plaza. The two movements will join together at Kennedy Plaza to protest/rally as one.

There will also be gatherings in the area in front of Clements Market on East Main Road in Portsmouth from 12 to 2 p.m. and at 600 Main Road in Tiverton from 12 to 1 p.m.
