Mary (Coleman) Sabra of Westport, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the age of 83 in Middletown, RI, surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Dr. James J. Sabra of Fall River, MA.
Born in Norwich, CT, the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Mary B. (Bowen) Coleman,
Mary received her degree in Nursing from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford, CT in 1959. As a Registered Nurse, Mary worked alongside her husband for many years. She was the past president and member of the St. Anthony of the Desert Blessed Mother Guild and a former member of the Lebanon American Ladies Auxiliary. Mary was also a past member of the St. Anne’s Hospital Development Committee, Board of Directors, Friends of St. Anne’s Hospital, and was a Patient Advocate.
Mary is survived by her six children, Maura Bracken (Stephen) of Westport, MA, Barbara Mazzaferro (Edward) of Tiverton, RI, James Sabra (Elaine) of Westport, MA, Lisa Solomon of Tiverton, RI, Michael Sabra of Austin, TX, and Dr. John Sabra (Dr. Ximena) of Austin, TX; a brother, Patrick Coleman (Cathy) of Norwich, CT, 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary was also the mother-in-law of the late Lisa Byrne Sabra and Paul Solomon.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11 am at St. Anthony of the Desert Church, 300 N Eastern Ave., Fall River, MA. Burial will take place following the mass at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River, MA. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend visiting hours on Monday from 9 to 11 am in the church prior to the mass.
