Westport police logs: Parking citations add up at beaches

Monday, May 30

Police investigated a suspicious car on Main Road at 1:34.

A 911 caller called police to Meadowbrook Lane at 1:37 a.m., for a report of suspicious activity.

A caller to 911 reported the theft of a car from a Beeden Place residence.

Parking enforcement officers six times "rendered services" on East Beach Road (12:20 p.m.), Hillside Road (12:20 p.m.), Hix Bridge Road (12:27 p.m.), West Beach Road (1:06 p.m.), Cherry and Webb Lane (1:50 p.m.), and Beach Avenue (3:17 p.m.).

Police assisted a motorist whose car was disabled on Route 88 and called 911 for help at 3:15 p.mm.

Callers reported suspicious cars on Route 88 (6:07 p.m. and 6:36 p.m.).

Police assisted a motorist whose car broke down on John Reed Road at 8:09 p.m.

Tuesday, May 31

Parking enforcement officers issued a citation on Cherry and Webb Lane at 12:40 p.m.

Police were called to keep the peace on Old Bedford Road at 4:53 p.m.

Police served a restraining order at an Alberto Drive home at 5:18 p.m.

Police investigated a disturbance on Old Bedford Road called in via 911 at 9:32 p.m.

Wednesday, June 1

Police assisted a motorist with car trouble on American Legion Highway at 9:27 a.m.

A walk-in from Tickle Road reported a suspicious person at 1:05 p.m.

Police responded to a disturbance on Third Street called in by a resident at 2:05 p.m.

Thursday, June 2

Police attempted but were unable to serve a restraining order at an American Legion Highway address at 5:19 p.m.

A caller from Sunnyfield Drive reported a suspicious car at 5:51 p.m.

Friday, June 3

Police responded to an accident at routes 88 and 195 at 11:09 a.m.

The fire department was called to a car fire on Drift Road at 12:47 p.m.

Saturday, June 4

Parking enforcement officers issued citations at Hix Bridge Road (10:43 a.m.), Beach Avenue (11:04 a.m.), Cherry and Webb Lane (12:13 p.m.), and rendered services on East Beach Road at 12:14 p.m.

A Bill Street resident reported larceny, forgery or fraud.

Parking enforcement officers cited cars on Cherry and Webb Lane (2:47 p.m.) and East Beach Road (3:10 p.m.).

An Adamsville Road resident reported a missing person at 4:11 p.m. The person was located.

Sunday, June 5

A Drift Road resident reported property damage.

Police investigated a suspicious car at Route 88 and Drift Road at 3:54 a.m.

A parking enforcement officer issued a citation on East Beach Road at 11:12 a.m.

Police responded to a car accident on Adamsville Road at 4:51 p.m.

Monday, June 5

Westport fire and police crews responded to Reed Road shortly after 3 a.m. for a reported disturbance and possible structure fire. Police arrived to find a male still in the building, refusing to exit. Police were able to remove the individual and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which was contained to an area on the first floor. The incident is being investigated by Westport detectives.
