Though classes have not yet been canceled in Tiverton or Little Compton, Tiverton has instituted a parking ban which will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Town ordinances state that “no person shall park any vehicle on any street or highway so that it will interfere with or prevent the clearing of such street or highway from ice or snow by the highway department. Parking is specifically forbidden on that side of the street on which hydrants are located. On streets on which no hydrants are located, parking is specifically forbidden on the north side of east-west streets and on the east side of north-south streets when the chief of police shall issue a no parking snow warning over local radio and television.
Any further storm-related updates will be posted as they arrive.
