Bristol Police made one arrest and advised a number of residents regarding various complaints between April 10-17, 2023.

Monday, April 10
The animal control officer went to Metacom Avenue on an unspecified rooster complaint at 11:29 a.m.

Ongoing harassment was reported on Murphy Avenue at 12:01 p.m.

The theft of medication from a mailbox was reported on Dolly Drive at 12:46 p.m.

A report from Tina Court at 9:39 p.m. stated there was a man in all black clothing pacing the area. Police didn’t find anyone at the scene and said they would continue patrols in the neighborhood.

Tuesday, April 11
Fraud was reported on Franklin Street at 4:06 p.m.

A possibly sick skunk was reported on Loring Road at 4:40 p.m.

Harassment was reported on Wood Street at 4:45 p.m.

A shopping car reportedly damaged a parked vehicle on Hope Street outside of a business at 5:15 p.m.

Police transported a juvenile back to headquarters to be picked up by a parent after a noise complaint was reported on Division Street at 10:29 p.m.

Wednesday, April 12
Taylor Hill, 34, of Bristol, was arrested on a warrant by the Newport Police Department at 3:57 a.m. She was charged with two counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, 3rd+ offense, and disorderly conduct, first offense).

A caller reported finding a gun in the grass on Sefton Road at 12:18 p.m. Officers found the item was not a real gun.

Police received a complaint regarding people fishing on rocks near Wallet Street Beach on Hope Street at 7:35 p.m.

A vandalized bike with its tire cut was reported on Woodlawn Avenue at 9:22 p.m.

Three people were dispersed from near Franklin and Wood Streets at 10:47 p.m. after a noise complaint was reported.

Thursday, April 13
Police received a report of juveniles riding mopeds through Colt State Park at 3:32 p.m. They observed them but did not pursue, and tracked them north on Hope Street from Poppasquash. They alerted Warren PD when they neared that town.

Police advised Sherry Avenue residents following the report of an open burn at 9:00 p.m.

Loud patrons were reported on John Street at 11:28 p.m.

Friday, April 14
Police attempted to help a resident who had a dog stuck under the boardwalk at Independence Park on Thames Street who wouldn’t come out at 9:24 a.m. The owner said it would come out eventually.

A report at 1:32 p.m. indicated that there were “scantily dressed” females “dancing and being loud” at the Town Beach. Police found no issues after speaking with the individuals.

A goose with a broken wing was reported on Hope Street at 1:38 p.m. Authorities found it was getting around fine.

A dead turkey was reported on a Robin Drive property at 1:54 p.m.

A bonfire was extinguished on Third Street at 3:31 p.m.

People reported for loud yelling on Franklin Street at 5:49 p.m. were found to be playing video games.

People were reportedly jumping off the Mill Gut Bridge at Colt State Park at 6:05 p.m. DEM was notified.

Saturday, April 15
A caller reported a neighbor on Viking Drive was cutting down trees against the town ordinance at 4:20 p.m. Officers found nobody cutting down anything.

A vehicle stopped in the center span of the Mt. Hope Bridge was reported at 4:40 p.m. where the driver appeared distraught. They reportedly drove away when officers came to check on them. Portsmouth and Tiverton PD were notified.

Sunday, April 16
Police spoke to landscaping truck drivers that were reportedly honking their horns on Bay View Avenue at 6:23 a.m.

A person walking across the Mt. Hope Bridge was transported to the Bristol side at 7:28 p.m.
