Bristol PD: Slashed tires, a gas station fight and a nude shoreline stroller

Monday, July 11
A possibly sick raccoon was seen walking in the area of Burnside Street at 9:02 a.m. It was gone when authorities arrived.

Police arranged a pickup for a patron of a restaurant on Hope Street who appeared intoxicated at 5:55 p.m.

Four juveniles were reported as being a nuisance in the area of the Mt. Hope Bridge at 9:27 p.m. but were gone when police arrived.

Tuesday, July 12
A report of a group “talking loudly” was called in at 12:32 a.m. on Terrace Drive. Police found it was a birthday party and advised them to lower their volume a bit.

A sick or injured squirrel was reported on Hope Street at 8:00 a.m. The animal control officer reported the squirrel showed signs of mange, and was unable to catch it. A pest company was contacted to capture the animal.

A camper on the Town Beach was told to relocate at 4:58 p.m.
A suspicious camping vehicle was reportedly parked on a property on Broadcommon Road at 7:45 p.m. Police dispersed the camper.

Wednesday, July 13
A caller reported at 11:46 a.m. that someone had slashed their tires overnight while they parked outside of a business on Broadcommon Road the preceding evening.

A motor vehicle accident was reported at Hopeworth and Metacom Avenue at 7:22 p.m. that resulted in injuries requiring a transport to the hospital in Newport by Warren EMS.

Police responded to an altercation involving a woman holding a gas can who was fighting with other customers at the Seasons Corner Market on Metacom Avenue at 9:13 p.m. Police reported it was a verbal argument only.

Thursday, July 14
A motor vehicle accident on Metacom Avenue reported at 5:16 p.m. resulted in one being transported to Newport for medical attention.

Warren and Portsmouth PD were notified following a shoplifting incident reported at 5:55 p.m. from Stop & Shop on Metacom Avenue.

The driver of a reckless/speeding vehicle was issued a summons after being reported near Hope Street and Asylum Road at 8:22 p.m.

Friday, July 15
Police searched for a naked man walking along the shoreline near Hopeworth Avenue at 1:39 p.m. but did not locate him.

Police assisted individuals looking for a lost item on the Town Common at 9:46 p.m.

Saturday, July 16
A caller reported at 8:58 a.m. that a woman in a dress was walking along Thames Street striking parked vehicles with a stick. Police observed no damage to vehicles in the area.

A caller reported at 12:00 p.m. that unspecified items had been moved from a grave site at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Chestnut Street.

A complaint of a large gathering and fireworks was logged at 9:03 p.m. coming from Fernwood Road. Police did not find anything in the area.

Another fireworks complaint was logged at 10:51 p.m. on Third Street but police found nothing there.

Sunday, July 17
Police dispersed juveniles from the former Walley School on High Street at 9:37 p.m. One of the juveniles was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
