Bristol Police investigate a few backyard gatherings and loud neighbors

Bristol Police made no arrests from Sept. 21 to 27, though they did investigate the usual array of suspicious characters and loud backyard gatherings.

Monday, Sept. 21

A resident on Belvedere Drive called police after her cat became locked inside of a bedroom. The fire department responded and the cat was fine.

Officers responded to a verbal domestic dispute on Franklin Street at 9:01 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 22

The only incidents involved expired animals and speeding or reckless drivers.

Wednesday, Sept. 23

A Kennedy Court resident called police at 12:01 a.m. to report that a sibling had broken a door inside of the residence and then left on a bicycle. A patrolwoman found the juvenile and turned him over to his mother.

An Old Ferry Road resident reported fraud at 3:02 p.m.

A caller from Viking Drive reported a dirt bike being driven on the road at 4 p.m.

Someone reported a verbal altercation on Siegel Street at 5:21 p.m. An officer responded and found people speaking loudly, but no physical conflict.

Thursday, Sept. 24

After a call for alleged shoplifting on Gooding Avenue at noon, police issued a no-trespass order to the person in question.

Officers were called to Greenway Drive for a neighbor dispute at 12:28 p.m.

Someone reported juveniles on a dock near Independence Park at 4:58 p.m. They were gone when an officer arrived.

Management was advised to turn down the music after someone complained about noise from Thames Waterside Bar & Grill at 8:02 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 25

Rescue was called to evaluate and later transport a man to the hospital after police questioned him at the corner of Bradford and Thames streets at 12:58 a.m.

Officers dispersed people from Lower Ferry Road at 2:46 a.m.

At 7:41 a.m., a caller from Coggeshall Farm reported that someone had broken into the farm house.

Someone reported larceny of a cell phone from Gooding Avenue at 10:43 a.m.

A male customer became upset when told he had to wear a mask inside the Dunkin’ Donuts on Gooding Avenue at 10:43 a.m. The man allegedly went outside and threw something back inside the business before leaving with a small child. He was gone before officers arrived.

A resident on Old Ferry Road reported bank fraud and death threats at 4:38 p.m.

A woman on Monroe Avenue requested that police remove a man from the residence at 5:38 p.m. Rescue was called to the scene.

Officers responded to San Jose Drive for a called about an unwanted male in a residence at 7:01 p.m.

Someone reported a loose pitbull with a pink collar on Hopeworth Avenue at 7:47 p.m.

A Naomi Street resident reported unemployment fraud.

Officers investigated a supposedly loud gathering on Goulart Avenue at 10:17 p.m. It turned out to be just roommates watching sports on TV.

Police received a complaint about a large group being loud on Rock Street at 10:35 p.m. A sergeant reported nothing loud in the area.

Saturday, Sept. 26

A caller reported three men fighting outside on High Street at 12:09 a.m. Officers responded and found no fight, just the three men talking loudly. They were dispersed from the area.

A resident complained about noise on Fox Hill Avenue at 1:07 a.m.

A caller from Chestnut Street reported her car had been egged at 1:36 a.m.

A caller reported loud music from a residence on Rosita Avenue at 2:07 a.m. Officers responded and advised the residents.

At 1:12 p.m., a resident on San Jose Drive reported their car had been keyed.

A State Street resident reported fraud at 2:25 p.m.

Someone complained about a group of girls who were no properly social-distancing on State Street at 3:10 p.m.

A resident reported a large group of people not social-distancing and being loud on Burke Road at 4:08 p.m. An officer responded and found people in the backyard having a cookout.

At 4:14 p.m., a caller from Perry Street asked to speak to an officer about a party next door.

Police were called back to Burke Road at 4:53 p.m. because a neighbor said more people had arrived at the party after officers left. Officers investigated and found the same number of people as were there previously. They also spoke to other neighbors who said there were no problems.

A resident on Belvedere Drive called police after a vehicle knocked over a stop sign and drove away at 7:23 p.m. Police could not locate the vehicle.

Officers responded to a noise complaint at the intersection of Martin Avenue and Evelyn Drive at 9:22 p.m. They found three people on the back deck, and they advised them to move inside for the night.

A caller reported a large and loud gathering on High Street at 10:13 p.m. Officers investigated and found a family gathering in the backyard.

A neighbor reported kids being loud in the backyard of a Primrose Drive residence at 11:41 p.m. A patrolman reported no noise upon arrival, but officers advised a small gathering of people to move inside for the night.

Sunday, Sept. 27

Officers investigated an alleged assault on Mt. Hope Avenue at 1:24 a.m. A caller said he was punched in the face. There were no arrests.

Police issued a summons after investigating a noise complaint on Robin Drive at 1:46 a.m.

Officers dispersed an intoxicated person from the roadway on Siegel Street at 12:08 p.m.

A caller from Second Street reported a political sign stolen at 2:44 p.m.

A caller reported at least four people fighting in the street along Siegel Street at 5:01 p.m. Officers on scene reported no disturbance at that time.
