The most frequent call for Bristol law enforcement these days is from residents reporting the groups, gatherings and activities of neighbors who might be violating social distancing standards. Following are excerpts from the Bristol Police incident log from April 6 to 13.

Monday, April 6

An officer spoke to a man who was playing a musical instrument on Melrose Drive after a neighbor complained of loud music at 11:08 a.m.

Officers dispersed people from the Mt. Hope High School tennis courts after a 411 tipster reported a tennis class in session at 12:06 p.m.

A 411 tipster reported a group of juveniles on bikes in the area of State Street and Ryan Avenue at 1:32 p.m. They were gone when an officer arrived.

A 411 tipster reported a woman yelling on the phone in the area of State and Wood streets at 1:37 p.m.

A 411 tipster reported a large group of people at the Mt. Hope Boat Ramp off Annawamscutt Drive at 2:38 p.m. An officer responded and found no problem.

A caller reported two people riding scooters in the roadway along Beach Road at 4:08 p.m.

An officer responded to the area of Franklin and High streets after someone reported a large gathering of people playing music on the corner at 4:12 p.m. The officer found no problem, as they were social distancing.

A 411 tipster reported a large group of juveniles along State Street at 5:21 p.m.

A 411 tipster reported a house party along Poppasquash Road at 5:59 p.m. An officer investigated and found no problem.

An officer spoke to a group of people on Wood Street after getting a report of a gathering of 10-plus people in the back yard.

Tuesday, April 7

Police dispatched rescue to Thames Street at 2:44 a.m. after a man reported he was going to lose control if he didn’t get out of town. He was transported to a hospital.

A Chestnut Street resident complained about people sitting on their stone wall while waiting for a RIPTA bus at 9:52 a.m.

Officers dispersed someone who was trespassing on Griswold Avenue at 1:22 p.m.

Officers responded to Dollar General on Hope Street at 2:14 p.m. after a caller complained that the store was too crowded and people were no social distancing.

An officer spoke to a construction crew on Noyes Avenue after someone complained they were not wearing masks.

Officers dispersed a group of people who were not social distancing on Lafayette Drive at 3:38 p.m.

An officer dispersed people from Narrows Point at 8:46 p.m.

An anonymous tipster reported a man and woman arguing on St. Elizabeth Street at 11:04 p.m. Officers investigated and found a woman watching a movie, with no one else in the apartment. While they were there, a caller complained about loud yelling coming from outside that same apartment. An officer on scene reported there were no problems; the original resident was outside talking with officers and not arguing.

Wednesday, April 8

The state fire marshal’s office was called to Galilean Seafood on Broadcommon Road at 9:14 a.m. after a worker found hand grenades inside a bushel of shellfish.

A resident complained of open burning on Peck Avenue at 2:34 p.m. An officer responded but was unable to locate a fire.

A resident complained about a woman who was yelling out the window of a fire escape at 3:30 p.m. on Richmond Street. An officer spoke to the woman.

A man called police at 5:49 p.m. after reportedly breaking a tooth while eating pitless olives purchased at Stop and Shop. He told police he ate half the batch before hitting one with a pit. He opted not to file a police report and instead took the matter to the grocery store.

An officer responded to Siegel Street at 9:55 p.m. to weigh in on a dispute between neighbors over trash.

An officer dispersed people in a vehicle from Lower Ferry Road at 11:26 p.m.

Thursday, April 9

An officer dispersed a car and its occupants from Independence Park at 1:57 a.m.

Eric Walker, 31, of Pawtucket, was taken into custody on Washington Street. He was charged with domestic assault (second offense) and domestic vandalism (second offense). He was transported to District Court for arraignment and then to the ACI.

A woman called from an Annawamscutt Drive residence to request her husband be removed from the house at 4:34 p.m.

A 411 tipster called regarding a quarantine situation on George Street at 5:13 p.m.

Friday, April 10

A St. Elizabeth Street man called to report people arguing on another floor of their building at 12:10 a.m.

A t 12:01 p.m., a caller complained about a landscaping crew that was not social distancing on Sherman Avenue.

At 12:28 p.m., a caller reported 30 people on the beach at Narrows Point. A responding officer found seven cars, with all people inside the cars and practicing proper social distancing protocols.

An officer located and questioned to men with hoodies who were seen climbing a fence and attempting to enter a building in the area of the Elks Club and water tower at the southern end of Thames Street at 4 p.m.

An officer advised a group of people who had gathered outside Quito’s Restaurant for takeout food at 6:18 p.m. They were notified of proper social distancing guidelines.

Saturday, April 11

A 411 tipster reported a child holding a cigarette and getting into an SUV in the area of St. Elizabeth Street and Chilton Street at 4:43 p.m. A patrolman spoke to a group of three people in the SUV and later released the juveniles to the parents’ custody.

A resident complained about two large gatherings of people on Fales Road at 5:27 p.m. A responding officer reported no problem; people were practicing social distancing.

A caller complained about a raccoon under their porch on King Philip Avenue at 6:30 p.m. DEM was notified and responded to say it was fine for the raccoon to be out and about.

A resident reported fireworks in the area of Bristol Point Drive at 8:43 p.m.

Sunday, April 12

A caller reported a woman on State Street not following quarantine guidelines following a flight. Police spoke to the woman by phone and found no problems.

An officer dispersed two older men who were reportedly under the influence and harassing people while walking in the area of High and State streets at 4:03 p.m.

A 411 tipster reported a group of college students playing beer pong in the backyard of a house at the corner of State and Second streets. An officer responded and found five roommates. They were advised to continue to abide by the five-person limit.

A resident complained about kids in the area of Roma Street who were flying a drone and landing it on people’s cars and in the roadway at 5:06 p.m.

A 411 tipster reported a group of kids playing soccer on the Town Common at 6:11 p.m. A responding officer found six kids and dispersed them from the area.

An officer dispersed people from Lower Ferry Road at 11:25 p.m.

Monday, April 13

A caller reported two male juveniles who were wearing hoodies and allegedly going into parked cars in the Hamlet Drive area. Officers responded and arrested a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old. They were both charged with tampering with vehicles, larceny and underage possession of alcohol.
