Edward Sardinha, 87, of Franklin Street, Bristol, passed away on June 19, 2018, at home. He was the husband of Virginia (Sousa) Sardinha.
Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Manuel and Alexandrina (DeMelo) Sardinha. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Edward Sardinha and his wife Gini, Mary Manion and her husband Richard, David Sardinha and his wife Sheila, Ann Fernberg and her husband Robert, Thomas Sardinha and Joni, Gerald Sardinha and Peter Sardinha and his wife Angela. He was the brother of Mary Sardinha, SSD and the late Manuel, Joseph, John, Louis, Anthony and George Sardinha.
Mr. Sardinha was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was the owner of the West Plaza Restaurant and a chef at the R.I. Veterans Home for 42 years before retiring.
His funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, at 10 a.m. from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in St. Columba Catholic Cemetery, 465 Brown’s Lane, Middletown.
