The Kickemuit Middle School girls’ track team placed second in Rhode Island following the State Championships on Sunday. Several boys and girls won accolades at the championship level.
Eighth grader Thea Jackson won first place in the 100m and 200m races and 8th grader Jessica Deal won first place in the 1,500m and second place in the 800m. The girls 4 x 400m relay team placed second. Jackson Cicchinelli, of the boys team, placed second in the 1,500 meter race. The full results of winners are:
Overall - KMS girls team placed 2nd
100m girls - Thea Jackson, 1st place, 12.55 seconds
200m girls - Thea Jackson, 1st place
400m girls - Kara Pisasale, 5th place
1,500m girls - Jessica Deal, 1st place
1,500m boys - Jackson Cicchinelli, 2nd place
800m girls - Jessica Deal, 2nd place
Long jump girls - Thea Jackson 3rd & Kara Pisasale 6th
High jump girls - Ryan Coffey, 5th place
4 x 400m relay girls - 2nd place, Kara Pisasale, Jessica Deal, Thea Jackson, Ryan Coffey
