The Tiverton Historical Society would like to thank all those who supported our Speakeasy fundraiser held at the Tiverton Rod & Gun Club. We would also like to thank the Gun Club for providing the venue and the chefs who prepared such a delicious meal for our guests.

Those attending learned some of the history of the Roaring Twenties through a trivia contest, and heard excerpts read by THS Directors from "I Ran Rum" written by Tiverton's own renowned run runner, Herb Cavaca. Center Stage Dance Studio from Somerset entertained us with The Charleston, and attempted to teach a few of the audience some of the steps as well. We had flappers, dandies, and gangsters - oh my! And a whole lot of fun!

Thank you for supporting the Tiverton Historical Society. Historic properties and programs take a lot of money to do it right. But we can't do it alone - we need our members and patrons of history to help us. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events this year: the Veterans Day Ceremony at the WW I Doughboy statue by the Old Stone Bridge, and our Holiday Open House on December 9 and 10 at Chace-Cory House in Tiverton Four Corners. (We're also at the Tree Spree in Little Compton the week before in December with a tree, courtesy of Amanda Carr, our secretary, and booth.)

And if you pass by Chace-Cory House this November, say hello to the Eagle Scout and his crew who will be restoring our outhouse and basement doors.
