Warren police logs: Dog locked in van was OK

Monday, Sept. 19

Brennan C. Fisher, 26, of Providence, was charged with disorderly conduct/indecent exposure after police got a call just before 3:30 p.m. that a man was urinating on Makret Street.

Checks were reported stolen from a Harding Avenue home.

Police got a report that a man in a car on Market Street might be using drugs. It turned out to be unfounded.

Tuesday, Sept. 20

A Connolly Avenue woman asked to speak to an officer about her boyfriend, who she said was bothering her. Police dispersed the man, but the woman called back about half an hour later to say he’d returned.

A bike was reported stolen from Vernon Street.

Police checked establishments on Kelly and Market streets for gaming tables.

Police dispersed kids who reportedly were pushing a shopping cart through a Water Street parking lot and bouncing water bottles off area homes.

A barking dog complaint came in from Seymour Street. No word what the dog was complaining about …

Wednesday, Sept. 21

A crew working on Hezekiah Drive sat 6:29 a.m. was advised to stop until after 7 a.m., per town ordinance.

A Crescent Street man got into an argument with his father over checks.

A caller reported that a dog locked in a green van on Water Street might be in distress. Police checked it out and found the dog well; the windows were rolled down and there was plenty of ventilation, an officer noted.

A Main Street resident reported loud music coming from a home under construction next door.

Thursday, Sept. 22

Eric R. Battcher, 26, of Swansea, was arrested on a sixth Division District Court bench warrant, following a traffic stop on Market Street.

A cabbie called the police after dropping a fare off at a home on Davis Street; the fare never came back out to pay his bill, the caller complained.

An officer spotted three kids under the bleachers at Kickemuit Middle School at 10:22 a.m., and noted that they might b bunking school. After checking it out he confirmed that the three were Mt. Hope High School students.

Police warned a woman at Child and Redmond streets about the town’s leash law.

A Bay Road man reported receiving threatening messages from his ex-wife.

Someone complained of excessively loud music on Kickemuit Road.

Someone complained that a woman on Metacom Avenue was singing too loudly.

Friday, Sept. 23

A caller from Fatima Drive reported that people were trying to gain entry into a home next door using a power saw. Police checked it out; they were construction workers working on the home.

Police found and returned a purse to its owner.

Police dispersed a group of juveniles reportedly being disruptive on Main Street just after 4:30 p.m.

Police got a report on the smell of marijuana smoke on Metacom Avenue. No arrests were made.

A caller from Church Street reported falling into an open manhole. Police arrived and had a look, but couldn’t find an open manhole.

Gina M. Morris, 41, of East Providence, was picked up on a warrant for domestic cyberstalking and cyberharassment.

A possible drunk driver was reported on Main Street. A short time later, a similar call came in from Arlington Avenue; the driver was not intoxicated, police noted.

Saturday, Sept. 24

Goats got loose and started meandering down Libby Lane.

Christian Tierney, 20, of Pawtucket, was charged with obstructing an officer, after police got a call about a man, possibly drunk, yelling at a woman on Market Street. The call came in at 7:45 p.m.

Police broke up a group of women reportedly fighting on Norbert Street.

Sunday, Sept. 25

A caller from Patterson Avenue asked to speak to the animal control officer about a coyote possibly sighted in the area.

People were reportedly arguing on Brady Street.

Someone complained of excessively loud music on Warren Avenue.

Monday, Sept. 26

Police went to Child Street for a landlord/tenant issue.
