Lifelong Warren resident lived extraordinary life

Delores V. (Lessard) MacDougall, 97, passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on May 2, 2018. She was the wife of the late Robert H. MacDougall Sr.
Born in Warren, a daughter of the late Oliver W and Rose A (Ethier) Lessard, she was a lifelong resident of Warren.
She was an active communicant of St. Jean the Baptiste Church.
She leaves three sons, James K. MacDougall, Robert H. MacDougall and Oliver T. “Scott” MacDougall; two daughters, Rebecca R. MacDougall and Delores V. Donnelly; sister Annette Laporte; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Bruce L. and Claude D. MacDougall and sister of the late Oliver Lessard, Orella Ferri and Rachel Staton.  
Delores was a gentle woman, whose faith and selfless caring, love of family, friends and community led to an extraordinary life. She was a gifted woman with many creative talents.   Her love has touched so many she will never be forgotten and will be missed by all.
Her funeral was held Monday, May 7 in St. Mary of the Bay’s Parish, 645 Main St. 
Visiting hours are being held on Sunday May 6 from 4to 7 pm in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren. Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 7 at 9:30 am in St. Mary of the Bay’s Parish, 645 Main St., Warren.
Burial will be in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery.
Any contributions may be made in her honor to St. Jean the Baptiste Church Cemetery.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
