Simone’s Restaurant, the Child Street eatery opened by chef Joseph Simone in 2014, is closing its doors.

Mr. Simone announced the closure on his Facebook page Monday, saying the announcement comes with “gratitude and sadness.”

“We thank all of our friends and guests for making our almost four years filled with joy.”

Mr. Simone, the proprietor of the former Sunnyside on Water Street, said he hopes to welcome diners at a different location “before too long.”

He could not be reached to comment further on future plans.
