Warren PD: Fireworks, a loose cow, and four arrests

Monday, April 10
A Broad Street resident reported the possible theft of some of their coins at 10:18 a.m.

A caller reported a case of possible animal neglect on Metacom Avenue at 11:45 a.m.

A passerby on Brown Street reported at 12:45 p.m. that there was a man who exposed himself in the wooded area nearby. Barrington PD were also advised, but an area search came up negative.

A sinkhole was reported near Truman Avenue and Main Street at 5:17 p.m. The Bristol County Water Authority was notified, and responded to the scene about an hour later.

A caller on Metacom Avenue reported a disgruntled female inside the establishment at 8:32 p.m. and requested her to receive a no trespass order.

Police restored the peace following the report of an unruly resident on Main Street at 11:41 p.m.

Tuesday, April 11
The Warren Fire Department put out a fence that was on fire on Brownell Street at 1:58 p.m.

A caller reported at 3:07 p.m. that a driver threw an alcoholic beverage out of their car window near Main and Vernon Streets and might be intoxicated. They were gone from the area when police searched for them.

Possible fraudulent use of a business name was reported on Miller Street at 4:04 p.m.

A caller on Asylum Road reported two juveniles selling baked goods without a license on Asylum Road at 4:26 p.m. Police advised an adult at the scene of the complaint.

A police officer reported they hit a rock with their vehicle on Market Street at 10:27 p.m. A tow had to be called.

Wednesday, April 12
Damage to a park sign on Wood Street was reported by the DPW director at 10:55 a.m.

A sick raccoon was reportedly walking around a neighborhood on Warren Avenue at 11:23 a.m. A search for the animal came up negative.

Police responded to a domestic situation on Water Street at 6:51 p.m. involving a report that a man was assaulted by his ex, who was reportedly wielding a knife. Bristol PD eventually made contact with the woman, who was transported back to Warren HQ for questioning, but was not arrested.
Fireworks were reported on Kinnicutt Avenue at 8:00 p.m. but police found nothing at the scene. Another call came in regarding fireworks on Wood Street at 8:09 p.m. and again on Denver Avenue at 8:47 p.m. but in both subsequent instances police found nothing.

Thursday, April 13
Police dispersed an unruly juvenile from a residence on Market Street at 6:53 a.m.

A street sign was reported as missing from Market Street and Pennsylvania Avenue at 12:28 p.m. RIDOT was notified.

Friday, April 14
A caller on Barton Avenue reported there was a cow in the road at 11:57 a.m. It was gone when units arrived.

A State Street resident reported at 2:06 p.m. that they had fallen victim to a scam and lost money as a result.

Stuart Tibbetts, 37, of Warren, was arrested on Main Street at 8:46 p.m. on a Superior Court warrant. He was transported to the ACI later that evening.

Saturday, April 15
John Clark, 62, of Warren, was arrested on Child Street at 12:56 a.m. and charged with a Superior Court warrant. He was transported to the ACI later that morning.

A swan was reportedly stuck under the bridge on Main Street at 11:19 a.m. The animal control officer was not able to reach it.

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested on Water Street at 4:45 p.m. after a report came in that a male individual had stolen a person’s cell phone and fled on foot. They were charged with larceny and vandalism, as the phone had become damaged. The juvenile was transported home after being processed.

Sunday, April 16
Daylece Lopes, 19, of Fall River, Mass., was arrested on Child Street at 1:15 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop. She was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. She was arraigned and released later that morning.

A dog fight was reported near Coomer Avenue and Main Street at 12:30 p.m. The animal control officer transported the suspected aggressor dog to the shelter for a quarantine period.

Monday, April 17
A rescue was requested for a man who was yelling near the football field on Child Street at 12:34 a.m.
