Warren Police made three arrests for DUI and responded to two situations involving teenagers having phones taken away by parents between Oct. 9-16, 2023.

Warren PD: Police make three DUI arrests

Monday, Oct. 9
A caller on Metacom Avenue reported at 2:51 p.m. they had been struck by a motor vehicle while cycling on Saturday. They refused a rescue for a medial evaluation.

Police dispersed a suspicious vehicle from the Franklin Street Park N’ Ride at 8:58 p.m.

Police looked for a man who was reportedly carrying a backpack and a flashlight who was shouting in the area of Liberty Street at 10:55 p.m. but he had gone from the area when they arrived.

Tuesday, Oct. 10
A residential burglary alarm caused a stir on Warren Boulevard at 4:55 p.m. It was likely caused by a dog.

Police spoke with a local juvenile at 7:18 p.m. who was upset because their parent had taken away their cell phone.

A separate call related to a parent taking away a teenager’s cell phone was logged at 10:24 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 11
A Child Street resident was nearly victimized by an online dating scam at 10:28 a.m. involving the threat of a possible hostage situation. Police helped the resident and prevented any damage.

Thursday, Oct. 12
Police dispersed a man who was rummaging through a dumpster on Everett Street at 10:46 a.m.

Police responded to a Metacom Avenue restaurant to trespass a woman who refused to leave the premises at 7:14 p.m. after a disagreement over a food order.

Friday, Oct. 13
Jayne McQuaid, 33, of 128 High St., Apt. #2, Bristol, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop near Metacom Avenue and Bee Jay Court at 1:52 a.m. She was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. She was arraigned and released later that morning.

A sign on Metacom Avenue was reported at 9:17 a.m. to have been damaged by a deliver driver.

A stolen trash can was reported on Market Street at 9:59 a.m.

Property damage was reported on Main Street at 4:28 p.m.

Police looked for a woman on Market Street who was reportedly asking customers for money at 11:10 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 14
A woman on Market Street was advised of a report against her for panhandling at 12:48 a.m.

Police responded to Barney Street at 1:13 a.m. for the report of a woman knocking on doors asking for money.

Christian Joseph Gillen, 28, of 9 Milmohr Court, Northport, N.Y., was arrested following an accident involving a vehicle hitting a building near Metacom and Homestead Avenues at 11:10 a.m. He was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. He was arraigned and released later that afternoon.

Police looked for vehicles reportedly speeding on Orchard Avenue at 12:07 p.m.

A caller reported several people were fishing off the temporary bridge near Main Street at 4:26 p.m. DEM was called and it was learned they were on the Barrington side of the bridge.

A woman reported at 4:29 p.m. that she had been bitten by a dog earlier in the day on Franklin Street.

A woman came into headquarters at 7:18 p.m. to report that she believed her laundry basket had been stolen. She was told to go home and check before filing a report.

Sunday, Oct. 15
Jessica Cruz, 44, of 437 Child St., Apt. #C, Warren, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop on Child Street at 1:28 a.m. She was charged with DUI of liquor (BAC unknown, first offense), and refusal to submit to a breathalyzer. She was arraigned and released later that morning.
