The Westport girls tennis team moved to 10-3 last Thursday with a 3-2 victory over visiting Sacred Heart.

The Wildcats took all three singles matches with victories by Kayla Pimentel (6-1, 6-0), Annie MacMaster (6-1, 6-1) and Kendra Wilkinson (6-2, 6-4).

Boys pick up late week wins

While the Westport girls are assured a playoff spot, the boys are fighting for a berth in the Mayflower Athletic Conference Comprehensive tourney.

Last Thursday, they helped their cause with a 5-0 win over Sacred Heart in Kingston.

Alberto Cu Sosa (6-3, 6-0), Sam Vaughan (6-2, 6-3), and Brendan Martin (6-0, 6-3) took all won their singles matches.

The doubles teams of Patrick Yeargin/Alex Raposa (6-0, 6-0) and Andrew Clayton/Tyler Holden (6-1, 6-1) made short work of their matches.

On Friday, the boys team beat Coyle & Cassidy at home to improve to 7-7.
