Westport police logs: Man faces DUI, other charges

Monday, June 26

A caller reported a road hazard at Cornell and Adamsville roads at 9:33 a.m., but police couldn't find it.

A 911 caller from Chestnut Hill Road lodged animal complaints at 10:31 a.m.

Police assisted a motorist after getting a call about a disabled vehicle at Route 88 and Briggs Road at 1:10 p.m.

A caller reported an accident on Gifford Road at 5:09 p.m.

A caller reported a motor vehicle violation on Route 88, at Old County Road, at 10:22 p.m. Police deemed it unfounded.

Police pulled over one vehicle over the course of the day, and issued no citations.

Tuesday, June 27

A caller from Sanford Road lodged an animal complaint shortly after 9 a.m.

A caller from Daisy Lane reported suspicious activity at 10:45 a.m.

A Main Road resident complained of vandalism at 11:04 a.m.

A caller reported an accident on State Road just before 1 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a motor vehicle violation on Route 195 at 1:43 p.m.

A caller reported a disabled vehicle on State Road at 7:56 p.m.

A noise complaint came in from Cahoon's Lane at 9:59 p.m.

Police pulled over six cars and issued two citations over the course of the day.

Wednesday, June 28

Police assisted a disabled motorist on Route 88 and Old County Road at 12:48 p.m.

A caller reported a suspicious car on Charlotte White Road at 3:31 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a motor vehicle violation on Main Road at 3:57 p.m. A similar call came in from Main Road about 50 minutes later, and two others — State Road at 6:31 p.m. and Route 88 at 6:34 p.m. — were also logged.

Two 911 callers reported an accident on State Road just before 9 p.m.

Police did not report pulling over any vehicles over the course of the day.

Thursday, June 29

A caller from Robert Street and Narrow Avenue complained of solicitors just before 2 p.m.

A Sanford Road resident reported identity fraud at 3:56 p.m.

A Center Street resident lodged an animal complaint at 7:04 p.m.

A caller reported a motor vehicle violation on River Road at 8:38 p.m.

Police pulled over three vehicles and issued two citations over the course of the day.

Friday, June 30

A Ridgeline Drive resident reported larceny, forgery or fraud at 9:52 p.m.

Parking enforcement officers issued a citation on East Beach Road at 11:41 a.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident on Main Road at 4:12 p.m. Another was called in from Route 88 at 10:44 p.m.

Police pulled over one vehicle over the course of the day, issuing a warning.

Saturday, July 1

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on Route 195 at 1:16 a.m.

An American Legion Highway caller reported property damage at 9:50 a.m.

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on Route 88 at 12:15 p.m.

A caller from Meadowbrook Lane reported suspicious activity at 12:43 p.m.

Police looked four but could not locate a vehicle called in by a resident reporting a motor vehicle violation on drift Road just after 3:30 p.m.

A River Road resident lodged an animal complaint just after 9 p.m.

A 911 caller reported a motor vehicle violation on Route 195 at 9:34 p.m.

Police pulled over two cars and issued one citation over the course of the day.

Sunday, July 2

A 911 caller reported an accident on Route 88 at 12:02 a.m.

Ethan Alexander Mazo, 23, of 16 J Drive, was charged with operating under the influence, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a license and speeding, after police pulled him over on Gifford Road at 2 a.m.

A caller from State Road reported a suspicious person at 7:52 a.m.

A caller from Drift Road reported a disturbance at 9:56 a.m.

A caller at American Legion Highway and Sanford Road reported road rage at 2:36 p.m. Police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

A 911 caller reported an accident with injuries on Route 88 at 4:52 p.m.

Animal complaints came in from Pine Hill Road at 7:51 p.m.

Police pulled over five vehicles and issued two citations over the course of the day.
