The Barrington Youth Basketball Association is offering skills clinics and organized pick-up games this summer at the Barrington Middle School basketball courts.
The skills clinics will take place on Tuesday nights, June 25, July 2, 9, 23 and 30, and Aug. 6 and 13. The clinics will be open to girls and boys in third grade through fifth grade from 5 to 6 p.m., and to girls in boys in sixth grade through eighth from 6 to 7 p.m. The clinics will offer instruction in shooting, ball handling and defense — they are for players of all skill levels. There is a $10 fee per player, per clinic (scholarships are available).
Ben Silvia and Dan Gumb will run the clinics.
The organized pick-up basketball pick-up games will take place Wednesday nights, from July 3 to Aug. 14. Girls and boys games will be played on two separate courts. Games for girls and boys in grades three and four run from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Games for girls and boys in grades four and five run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and games for girls and boys in grades seven and eight run from 7:45 to 8:45 p.m.
The pick-up games are free.
